GPR Records' first release will be 'Poetic License' featuring 100 poems read by 100 performers of the stage and screen. The CD will be released on April 2nd in celebration of National Poetry Month and will be available on Amazon.com and on itunes. There has never been a spoken word recording that has included so many performers reading such a wide variety of poetry, each selection a personal choice of the performer. GPR Records is presenting this collection in hopes of inspiring audiences with a new appreciation of the spoken word.

Raúl Esparza, Edward Hibbert, Jeff Blumenkrantz and John Ellison Conlee will join Donna Murphy and Sutton Foster in Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents' Anyone Can Whistle, the final New York City Center Encores! production of the 2009-2010 season. Anyone Can Whistle, running for five performances April 8 - 11, will be directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw with musical direction by Rob Berman.

Glen Roven, Peter Fitzgerald, and Richard Cohen are pleased to announce the formation of a new CD label, GPR Records, (www.GPRRecords.com) which will record and distribute Broadway, classical, spoken word, and children's music. GPR aims to surprise listeners with recordings that are both unusual and entertaining

Broadway star Georgia Engel, last seen in the production of The Drowsy Chaperone as Mrs. Tottendale, will star in the Theatre Zone's production of HIGH SPIRITS in Naples, Florida. The production is a limited engagement, playing January 7th through 17th. High Spirits is a musical adaptation of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit.

On Wednesday, January 13, Daryl Roth was feted by Jordan Roth, Charles Busch and David Hyde Pierce and joined by a slew of celebrity friends and colleagues to celebrate her induction onto the famed wall of Sardi's as her caricature was unveiled and added to their collection. Guests included Kathleen Turner, Bill Irwin, Judith Light, Michael Urie, Bob Balaban, Tovah Feldshuh, David Pittu, Doug Hughes, Edward Hibbert, Nilo Cruz, John Doyle, Karen Ziemba and the current cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore (Katie Finneran, Michele Lee, Debra Monk, Tracee Ellis Ross and Casey Wilson).

On Monday, November 30, The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company presented the fifth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was be presented by Eric Schaeffer of the Signature Theatre in the Penthouse Lobby of The American Airlines Theater.

Eight cast members of Broadway's Burn the Floor (Damon Sugden, Rebecca Sugden, Patrick Helm, Sharna Burgess, Jeremy Garner, Sarah Hives, Kevin Clifton and Giselle Peacock) will open The Acting Company's Shakespearean Masquerade at The Pierre Hotel on Monday, November 16.

The Hetrick-Martin Institute's 2009 Annual Emery Awards took place at Cipriani Wall Street on Tuesday, November 10th.

Finian's Rainbow began previews at Broadway's ST. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street, on Thursday, October 8 at 8pm, and celebrated Opening Night, last night, Thursday, October 29 at 6:45pm. BroadwayWorld.com was there as the stars arrived for the first night festivities!

Directed by John Doyle with Mary-Mitchell Campbell lending her talents as music director, the May 4th star-studded evening was a benefit for The Acting Company and was held and The Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45thSt.)

The Manhattan Theatre Club production of Samson Raphaelson's ACCENT ON YOUTH running at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) celebrated Opening Night yesterday evening Wednesday, April 29th. BroadwayWorld.com's cameras were there for the celebrity filled arrivals.

On Monday, April 6, Linda Lavin returned to the Broadway at Birdland stage with a new show, along with musical director/singer Billy Stritch, Steve Doyle on bass, and Steve Bakunas on drums. The show, 'Moments Like This' is a new show that gave the sold-out Birdland audience a chance to meet the Broadway and television star up-close and personal as she recalled her roots in the theater, her love of torch songs, and a life-long obsession with the big bands of the 1940's.

Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster, currently starring as Princess Fiona in Broadway's Shrek The Musical, had her caricature unveiled at the world famous Sardi's Restaurant on March 3rd. Foster's likeness joined the ranks of Broadway royalty who have been honored with a caricature on the famous walls of Sardi's. BroadwayWorld joined the fun as Sutton's caricature was put up on the famous wall!

Due to popular demand and great ticket sales, McCarter Theatre Center has added a performance of its acclaimed production of George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession on Sunday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. Staged by McCarter Artistic Director Emily Mann, the cast features Suzanne Bertish in the title role, along with Robin Chadwick, Edward Hibbert, Madeleine Hutchins, Michael Izquierdo, and Rocco Sisto.
