The Hartt School presents a variety of music, dance, and theatre performances this April, many of which are free, and all are open to the public. All events take place at the University of Hartford's main campus, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT, unless otherwise noted. Edward Cumming and the Hartt Orchestra Return to the Bushnell Tonight

The Hartt School orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Edward Cumming, returns to The Bushnell tonight, March 2, at 8:00 PM, for a glorious concert featuring the music of Sharlat, Mozart, Beethoven, and Barber, concluding with Tchaikovsky's spectacular 1812 Overture. The performance will take place at The Maxwell M. & Ruth R. Belding Theater, at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford. For tickets, call 860.987.6000 or visit www.Bushnell.org. Admission for students is $10 with a valid student ID. Admission for adults is $35 for orchestra seating, and $25 for mezzanine and box seating. Seniors receive a $5 discount, and there is a 10% discount for groups of 20 or more.

This celebration of American music features the Hartt Symphony Orchestra, along with students from the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz, and special guests John Clayton and Hartt alumnus Michael Barrett, as well as remarks by Hartt alumna and Grammy award-winning entertainer Dionne Warwick. In honor of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph's 50th anniversary, The Hartt Symphony Orchestra presents a concert on Sunday, March 11, at 3:00 PM, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, 140 Farmington Avenue, Hartford. Maestro Edward Cumming leads the orchestra in works that include Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss and Symphony No. 3, also known as the Organ Symphony, by Camille Saint-Saëns, which features Ezequiel Menéndez, organ, also Director of Music for the Cathedral.
