Riverside Theatre will present Meredith Wilson's "The Music Man" through March 18 at its Stark Mainstage theater. With direction and choreography by Vince Pesce, the production's cast includes Broadway stars Jennifer Hope Wills (Marian Paroo), Beth McVey (Eulalie Shinn), and J.B. Adams (Mayor Shinn). The musical also stars David Schmittou as Professor Harold Hill.

Goodspeed Musicals just announced that Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth, who appeared as Annie Draper in Goodspeed's production of Strike Up The Band, will be the latest recipient of The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre at its Gala on August 11, 2012. Previous honorees include Julie Andrews, Martin Charnin, Ira Gershwin, Jerry Herman, William Ivey Long, Thomas Meehan, Michael P. Price, Gerald Schoenfeld, Stephen Schwartz, Susan Stroman, Charles Strouse, Tommy Tune and Paul Williams.

5th Avenue Theatre Executive Producer and Artistic Director David Armstrong yesterday announced the seven productions making up the celebrated Seattle musical theater's 2012-13 season. The North Carolina Symphony announced today an all-new series of matinee Pops performances. Now all the excitement and entertainment of the Symphony's beloved Pops concerts can be enjoyed in the daytime for less.

The First Ladies Project is a well-crafted satire written in the Second City style. It is interesting to note that three of the ensemble graduated the Second City Teen program. This sharpness is evident in moments such as Laura Bush's Stand-up routine and Lucretia Garfield's diphtheria-inspired rap. The ensemble were excellent bringing to light unknown First Ladies as well as fleshing out the lives of the more iconic ladies seated beside our Commander and Chiefs. For all of the hard-hitting satire evident throughout the show, there were some wonderful moments of humanity as well. Edith Wilson comforting her enfeebled husband and Hillary Clinton facing her husband's repeated infidelities were just some of those moments.

Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present a staged reading of Kelly Masterson's 'Edith' directed by Joe Cacaci on Wednesday, July 27 at 7:30pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. Tony Award-winning actress Jayne Atkinson will play the title role; the performance will also feature Michel Gill, Jack Gilpin, Bob Jaffe, and others TBA. The Music Man, by Meredith Willson, will close July 17, 2011 on the grounds of the beautiful Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island, just minutes from the Staten Island Ferry.
