Grammy-winner Mary Chapin Carpenter has played the White House, the Superbowl, the World Series and the Grand Ole Opry. On Sept. 15, she'll play Jorgensen on the University of Connecticut campus.

After a stunning 2009 performance with Bela Fleck and Zakir Hussain, Meyer returns to Texas Performing Arts in an intimate solo performance featuring classical music, jazz, bluegrass, and some of his own compositions on September 22, 2012.
LA Phil and Classical KUSC Continue Partnership to Broadcast 2012 Hollywood Bowl Concerts

Ten Los Angeles Philharmonic concerts from the current Hollywood Bowl Summer 2012 season, including four led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, will be broadcast on Classical KUSC beginning August 11. This is the sixth year of the orchestra's summer partnership with the Los Angeles listener-sponsored classical music radio station.
Nashville Symphony Awarded Three Grants

Nashville Symphony has been awarded grants from the Metro Nashville Arts Commission, the Tennessee Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. These funds will be used to sustain its commitment to enriching the community through music and arts education and to commissioning and recording new American repertoire.

It's officially summer come June and this summer season promises to be an active one at the Frist Center. Next month kicks off with the opening of Metamorphoses: Drawings by Erin Anfinson, Kristi Hargrove, Mark Hosford, and Chris Scarborough in the Conte Community Arts Gallery, and is shortly followed by the opening of Constable: Oil Sketches from the Victoria and Albert Museum on June 22. The Frist has collaborated with Watkins College on an quilting workshop with edgy quilter Ben Venom and the second installment of Frist Fridays on June 29th features Sam Bush with special guest Lera Lynn.

Accordo, established in 2009, is a Minnesota-based chamber group. Its third season, which opened with a program of Romantic String Sextets and closes with tonight's May 14 offering, is presented by The Schubert Club, Northrop Concerts and Lectures, and Kate Nordstrum Projects at the National Historic Landmark Christ Church Lutheran.

Classical tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 8 PM, as part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association's 2011/12 World Music Series. Hussain is joined by Masters of Percussion, an ensemble of leading percussion artists, the Meitei Pung Cholom Performing Troupe which combines dance, drumming and martial arts, and special guest, kathak dancer, Antonia Minnecola.

Bela Fleck & the Flecktones are back in session. Fleck, the banjoist, composer and bandleader, toured last year with Zakir Hussain and Edgar Meyer, stopping at Jorgensen in April. This year he's back at Jorgensen with the original Grammy-winning lineup of his swinging combo, the Flecktones, on Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m.
