Most experts claim he reinvented the image and sound of the banjo (with no apologies to Susanna). His remarkable performing and recording career has taken him all over the musical map on a range of solo projects and collaborations. His latest stop brings him to Canton to perform two concerts with the Canton Symphony Orchestra (CSO).

Indian music is one of the jewels of the world's cultural heritage, and there is nothing like a Masters of Percussion tour to bring that point home. Zakir Hussain & The Masters of Percussion bring their special talents to Harris Center for the Arts for one performance only. The San Jose Mercury exclaims, 'It is hard to imagine a better champion for Indian classical music in the West than Zakir Hussain; a phenomenal player with unimpeachable music credentials!'

Back by popular demand, Punch Brothers, the astonishing, otherworldly string band quintet featured on the soundtrack of the Coen Brothers' film Inside Llewyn Davis, will play Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, March 29, at 8 p.m.

The UW World Series brings Seattle audiences some of the most exciting artists and companies from around the globe. The tradition continues into the 2014-15 season with a stellar line-up of living masters and emerging talents curated by Artistic Director Michelle Witt in her third year of programming the Series. 23 artists and companies from over 21 countries will be represented, including Israel, Mali, Ukraine, Great Britain, Spain, France, Canada, Russia, Hungary, the USA, and the eleven countries that make up the Nile basin.

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter will make her New York Philharmonic debut in Mary Chapin Carpenter with the New York Philharmonic and Special Guests, a retrospective program featuring songs from throughout her career, some newly arranged for orchestra.

Joffrey Ballet School, a world-renowned dance center offering the most versatile and highest quality training, will present a Winter Concert collaboration highlighting the schools' Jazz and Contemporary Trainees and the Joffrey Concert Group. The celebrated fusion of performers will take place tonight, February 22, 8:30 p.m. and tomorrow, February 23, 4:00 p.m. at the Salvatore Capezio Theater.

San Francisco-based Alonzo King LINES Ballet, led by visionary Founder and Artistic Director Alonzo King, will present two alternate programs at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, one on Thursday, February 27 at 7:30PM and the other on Friday, February 28 at 7:30PM, featuring two of the company's newest interdisciplinary collaborations: The Thursday night performance welcomes acclaimed Israeli mezzo-soprano Maya Lahyani in her Chicago debut, and Friday night highlights an original score performed live by Grammy Award-winning double bassist Edgar Meyer in a Chicago premiere. In the midst of its milestone 10th season, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance heads into the new year with can't-miss performances as part of the Harris Theater Presents series, including a special addition to the 2013-2014 season: the Chicago debut of On Grace, a work-in-progress performance on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, from Drama Desk Award-winner Anna Deavere Smith and cellist Joshua Roman.
