Disney's ALADDIN, which is set to fly onto the Great White Way at the New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, ends its pre-Broadway engagement at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre today, Jan. 5, 2014. The production officially opened on Nov. 21, 2013.

It is a record-breaking holiday season at the four Mirvish theatres this year. Each theatre has been busy with a musical, each show a popular success -- ONCE at the Royal Alexandra, LES MISERABLES at the Princess of Wales, Disney's ALADDIN at the Ed Mirvish, and THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS, THE MUSICAL! at the Panasonic.

Holiday cheer will abound at Cleveland Play House (CPH) with an all-new production of the beloved holiday classic, A Christmas Story running from tonight, Nov. 29th - Dec. 22nd in the Allen Theatre at PlayhouseSquare.

Musicals get a bad rap. Although they are by far the most popular of all theatrical genres, many people still look down on the musical form as the illegitimate offspring of drama, comedy, opera and operetta. How often have we heard some seemingly sophisticated theatregoer say, 'I just don't like musicals -- they are trite and silly and then characters break into song,' as if that were a bad thing?

Due to popular demand - and just in time for the holidays, Disney's Aladdin is releasing additional seats for performances between December 17 through January 5. The additional seats will go on sale Monday November 25 at 9AM.

It was a true 'Arabian Night' in Toronto where the Broadway bound production of Disney's Aladdin had it's 'world premiere' last night.
