The next edition of MetroFocus features the campaign to bring marriage equality to New Jersey and what New York activists plan next to make same sex marriage the law of all fifty states.

Today the American Foundation for Equal Rights, in partnership with Broadway Impact, announce the complete cast and roles for the highly anticipated one-night only staged reading of '8,' a new play chronicling the historic trial in the federal legal challenge to California's Proposition 8. The play is written by AFER Founding Board Member and Academy Award-winning writer Dustin Lance Black and will be directed by two-time Tony Award-winning actor and director Joe Mantello.

As announced earlier: The Jewish Alliance for Change (Doni Remba, President) will present 'BROADWAY FOR A NEW AMERICA' - Standing Up for Marriage Equality and a Progressive Agenda for Change, on Monday, March 2nd at 7:00 PM (doors open at 6:30 p.m.), at Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway (at 95th Street). The benefit concert will feature over 25 top-name performers from the worlds of Broadway, television, film, music and comedy - including many Tony, Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy Award winners and nominees. Tickets to 'BROADWAY FOR A NEW AMERICA' range from $40.00 to $125.00.

The show features performers and cast members from leading shows, including Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winners, stars from the worlds of television, film, music, and comedy, plus prominent political leaders, progressive and LGBT activists.

Broadway, film, television and recording star Rachel York will be the special guest performer at the 2008 San Francisco Equality Awards to be held on Saturday, February 9 at historic San Francisco City Hall.
