Kathleen Chalfant To Receive Obie Award For Lifetime Achievement

The American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice announce that Tony Award-nominated and three-time Obie-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant will receive a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 63rd Annual Obie Awards.

Pedro Reyes' MANUFACTURING MISCHIEF To Receive NYC Premiere at The Tank

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present the New York Premiere of Pedro Reyes' Manufacturing Mischief, written by Paul Hufker and directed by Meghan Finn (Doomocracy with Creative Time at the Brooklyn Army Terminal) at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), June 5-24.

John Leguizamo Will Host This Year's Obie Awards

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President and CEO) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, CEO; Stephen Mooallem, Editor-in-Chief) are have just announced that the 63rd Annual Obie Awards will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018, and will move to a new venue, Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street). Emmy and Obie-winning actor John Leguizamo, currently starring in Latin History for Morons on Broadway, will host. Tickets to the 2018 Obie Awards can be purchased at www.ObieAwards.com.

Rebecca Patek's CHASM To Play The Tank 2/28-3/4

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present the World Premiere of Rebecca Patek's CHASM, directed by Meghan Finn at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) February 28-March 4. Performances will be Wednesday, February 28 at 7pm, Thursday, March 1 at 11am & 7pm, Friday, March 2 at 7pm, Saturday, March 3 at 7pm, and Sunday, March 4 at 4pm & 7pm. Tickets ($20/$15 students & seniors) are available for advance purchase at www.thetanknyc.org.

The world premiere of Carl Holder's CHARLESES begins performances tonight (Thursday, April 13) at The Brick (575 Metropolitan Avenue, at Lorimer). Meghan Finn returns to The Tank after directing last year's Drama Desk-nominated The Offending Gesture to helm the premiere production.

Columbia Stages presents William Shakespeare's MACBETH

Columbia Stages presents Macbeth. Coming off the critically acclaimed and sold-out production of The Great Divide at the Finborough Theatre in London, British director Rory McGregor (Columbia MFA Directing Candidate 2017) directs Macbeth in New York City as part of the Columbia Stages season. This production of Macbeth is a theatrical exploration of society's problematic relationship with celebrity.
