A concert version of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, starring American actor Drew Sarich, is set to be performed at the Ronacher Theatre March 23rd-April 2nd. Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the duo's second attempt at a biblical musical (following JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT) started as a concept album before making its debut on Broadway in 1971. It was still a decade away from making its Vienna debut, being first shown there in 1981.

In addition to the stars below, 'An Anderson & Petty Christmas' has recently added Katie Brayben, Lynne Wilmot, and Declan Egan to the line-up of this one-night-only concert on December 19.
Transatlantic songwriting duo Anderson & Petty are thrilled to be releasing this brand new Christmas single just in time for the holidays and their London Christmas show. Andrew Lloyd Webbers und Tim Rices Welterfolg EVITA ist auch nach der Sommerpause wieder bis Ende des Jahres in Wien zu sehen. Das Musical feierte unter der Regie von Hollywood-Star-Regisseur und -Choreograph Vincent Paterson, der bereits die Choreographie fur die Hollywood-Verfilmung von EVITA mit Weltstar Madonna entwarf, im Marz 2016 Premiere. Gestern starteten bei den VEREINIGTEN BÜHNEN WIEN die Proben fur die nachste Saison. Intendant Christian Struppeck begrußte die neuen Cast Mitglieder - allen voran Publikumsliebling Marjan Shaki, die die Titelrolle bis Mitte Oktober verkorpern wird und Musicalstar Felix Martin, der ab September in der Rolle des „Peron' zu sehen sein wird.
Am 9. Marz 2016 fand im Ronacher die Premiere von Andrew Lloyd Webbers und Tim Rices Kultmusical EVITA statt. Neben Hollywood-Star-Regisseur und -Choreografen Vincent Paterson waren auch Dagmar Koller, Peter Weck, Ramesh Nair, Maria Kostlinger, Lilian Klebow, Chris Lohner, Isabel Weicken, Renate Brauner, Andreas Mailath-Pokorny, Peter Hanke u.v.m. mit dabei. Nach der Vorstellung stießen die Darsteller - allen voran Thomas Borchert (Peron),Drew Sarich (Che) und naturlich Wiens neue „Evita' Katharine Mehrling - und die Premierengaste bei der anschließenden Premierenfeier auf einen erfolgreichen Abend an.

An ihrer Seite in den weiteren Hauptrollen darf man sich auf die Wiener Publikumslieblinge Drew Sarich als „Che" und Thomas Borchert als „Juan Peron" freuen.
