Tickets now on sale for the world-premiere of MIDDLETOWN, Will Eno's play having its debut this fall at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15 St.), with previews starting October 13 prior to an official opening night of November 3.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Will Eno's MIDDLETOWN - which will receive its World-Premiere at the Vineyard Theatre with previews beginning October 13, and opening officially on November 3 - is the inaugural recipient of the newly established Horton Foote Prize for Promising New American Play. Georgia Engel along with Michael Park will join the previously announced Linus Roache and Heather Burns in the World-Premiere of Will Eno's play MIDDLETOWN, which begins previews at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) on October 13th with opening night set for Wednesday, November 3rd. According to Michael Riedel of the New York Post ON A CLEAR DAY's director Michael Mayer and playwright Peter Parnell have been working hard at revising the deluded story. Riedel surmises 'In the original, the main character was a kooky young woman who, in a past life, was an English aristocrat. In the new version, the young woman is a young man who, in a past life, was a black female jazz singer.'

Following a developmental workshop at the Vineyard in the fall of 2009 and a series of concert readings this summer by New York Stage and Film Company and the Powerhouse Program at Vassar, the musical ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER - with lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Burton Lane, a new book by Peter Parnell based on the original book by Alan Jay Lerner, and reconceived and directed by Michael Mayer - will receive a full production at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) with performances beginning January 2011, it has been announced by Vineyard Theatre Artistic Director Douglas Aibel.

SCOTTSBORO BOYS to Open at Lyceum on Broadway in October

The New York Times is reporting that producer Barry Weissler has said that The Scottsboro Boys will begin performances in October at the Lyceum Theater. No specific schedule has yet been announced however and the Times reports that 'While noting that plans could change, Mr. Weissler said in a phone interview that he and his colleagues believed the Beaux Arts style of the 107-year-old Lyceum -and its relatively intimate size for a musical, with 902 seats - with 'a good fit for a show that takes place in the 1930s and tells a story of rich history.'

The cast of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, which ended its twice extended, sold-out run at Vineyard Theatre on Sunday, April 18, will record an Original Cast Album of the musical on Friday, April 23rd, it has been announced by Vineyard Theatre Artistic Director Douglas Aibel.
