Irish Theatre of Chicago has announced its 2016-17 Season, featuring a modern Irish classic, a Midwest premiere and a new staged reading festival of the works of emerging Irish playwrights.

Route 66 Theatre Company continues its 'Driver's Seat' Monthly Reading Series at Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro (3905 N. Lincoln Ave) with CHANGING CHANNELS by John Reeger on Monday, November 7th at 7:30 p.m.

Route 66 Theatre Company is pleased to announce the appointment Rachel Wendte and Deborah Blumenthal as its new Managing Director and New Play Development Director, respectively. 

Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble (CDE) concludes its 15th season dedicated to the woman's voice, and its ongoing mission of "performance with a purpose," with Shirley Lauro's A Piece of My Heart, directed by CDE fellow Victoria Alvarez-Chacon, and described by the Association of Vietnam Veterans of America as "the most enduring play on Vietnam in the nation."  A Piece of My Heart follows tells the true experiences of six women working in Vietnam during wartime. The powerful accounts of these women - five nurses and one country western singer - take place before, during and after Vietnam, and each story concludes with a personal token left at the memorial wall in Washington.

The company's first-ever three-show season kicks off this fall with the Midwest premiere of Geraldine Aron's touching and comedic one-woman show MY BRILLIANT DIVORCE, directed by Siiri Scott. ITC's 21st Season continues in March 2016 with the Midwest premiere of Gary Mitchell's intense thriller IN A LITTLE WORLD OF OUR OWN, directed by Associate Artistic Director Jeri Frederickson. The season concludes in spring 2016 with the U.S. premiere of Deirdre Kinahan's probing drama SPINNING, directed by Joanie Schultz.

Seanachai Theatre Company is pleased to celebrate its 20th anniversary season with an official name change to Irish Theatre of Chicago. The 2014-15 Season will include Conor McPherson's haunting drama SHINING CITY directed by ensemble member Jeff Christian and the world premiere drama THE WHITE ROAD by founding ensemble member Karen Tarjan, directed by ensemble member Robert Kauzlaric.

Oracle Productions proudly announces the remount of THE MOTHER by Bertolt Brecht, which opens Season 4 of Public Access Theatre. Less than one year ago, the company's original production of this activist musical was Jeff Recommended, and featured a world premiere score composed by Jonathan Guillen. Artistic Director Max Truax restages the piece with the original cast including Katherine Keberlein starring in the title role.
