The Met has announced a specially-curated, three-week schedule for its Nightly Met Opera Streams, a free series of encore Live in HD presentations and classic telecasts streamed on the company website during the coronavirus closure. The schedule includes an All-Verdi week, a 20th-Century Classics week, and an All-French week.

Fort Worth Opera (FWO) has announced two spring concerts featuring stars of the company's 2020 Festival (April 17-May 3). On Sunday, March 29, at 2:00 PM, the international cast of La Bohème will take the stage of the Kimbell Art Museum's Renzo Piano Pavilion for Pops at the Pavilion, an afternoon of opera, pop, musical theater, art song, and crowd-pleasing duets. This interactive concert will feature mesmerizing soprano Talise Trevigne, award-winning Italian tenor Giordano Lucà, and thrilling Canadian soprano Tracy Cantin. They will be joined by Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone Donovan Singletary and dynamic Mexican-American baritone Efrain Solis, with a few surprises thrown in to keep audience members on their toes.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the company's 2020-2021 season. It features four mainstage productions, including The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess and The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, both of which are being performed on a Lyric Opera of Kansas City stage for the first time. Two all-time favorites known for incomparable melodies - Verdi's beloved La traviata and Bizet's passionate Carmen - round out the extraordinarily diverse season. One of America's favorite operas returns to the Met for the first time in nearly 30 years! The 2019-2020 season of The Met: Live in HD will continue Saturday, February 1 with The Gershwins' PORGY AND BESS at 12:55 pm in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.

The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess returns to the Metropolitan Opera for the first time since 1990, in a new production directed by James Robinson in his company debut. Starring Eric Owens and Angel Blue and conducted by David Robertson. Porgy and Bess comes to the big screen at The Ridgefield Playhouse in a LIVE simulcast on Saturday, February 1st at 12:55pm, part of the Classical Series, underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Liz & Steven Goldstone, and Sabina & Walter Slavin with support from Whistle Stop Bakery.

Hailed as a?oeone of the great amateur choruses of our timea?? (New York Today) for its a?oefull-bodied sound and supplenessa?? (The New York Times), the 50-member Dessoff Choirs begins its 2019-20 season highlighting choral works by esteemed composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. Featuring full orchestra, and soloists Laquita Mitchell (soprano) and Donovan Singletary (baritone), the program is centered around the original 1893 version of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, the composer's masterpiece. Complementing the Requiem is Ich lasse dich nicht, a motet attributed to J.S. Bach, William Schuman's evocative Prelude for Voices, and the a?oeKyriea?? from Louis Vierne's Messe solennelle.

"Summertime" has just about arrived in the UK and Grange Park Opera continue their 2019 season with George and Ira Gershwin's Porgy & Bess. The audience are whisked away from West Horseley Place's idyllic setting to Charleston, South Carolina in this production directed by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy.

Seattle Opera's 50th Anniversary season continues with one of opera's greatest masterpieces, Verdi's Rigoletto. Considered by many to be the “perfect opera,” this tuneful tragedy tells of a tormented funnyman whose quest for vengeance ends up destroying all he holds dear. Fifty years ago, Seattle Opera produced Rigoletto as part of its first full season; in the decades since, Rigoletto's “La donna è mobile” has penetrated American pop culture and has appeared in everything from a Doritos Super Bowl commercial to an episode of Star Trek: Voyager and Elmo's World on Sesame Street. Now, Seattle Opera revives its popular 2004 production set in Mussolini's Italy and featuring several leading Italian artists. The show opens on January 11, 2014, and runs for seven performances through January 25.
