The singer-actress Raissa Katona Bennett explores the songbook of Jerome Kern in a new show, "Can't Help Singing - The Music of Jerome Kern," that premieres at Feinstein's at the Loews Regency on Thursday January 13.

'We found all the people who didn't see Donny and Marie tonight,' Suzanne Carrico chirps with a big smile as she surveys her Metropolitan Room audience.  In her new show, featuring material from her CD, What Christmas Time Means To Me, the MAC Award winner might be called a little bit American songbook, a little bit holiday traditional as she celebrates 'the only time of the year with a built-in soundtrack' with cleverness, sincerity and a heck of a lot of joy.

SUZANNE CARRICO, winner of the 2008 MAC Award for Best Female Debut for THE ART OF THE CAHN, Music from the Sammy Cahn Songbook, will celebrate the Christmas season & her new holiday CD, WHAT CHRISTMAS TIME MEANS TO ME, at Metropolitan Room this December. She will be joined by The Don Rebic Quartet, Dan Gross on percussion, Jim DiMatteo on bass & Windham Hill recording artist, Sean Harkness on guitar. Also joining her will be MAC Nominee Booth Daniels.

Actress/singer par excellence Leslie Uggams brings her acclaimed one-woman show Uptown Downtown to the Pasadena Playhouse opening November 19. In stories and song, Uggams recreates her extraordinary journey from uptown to downtown. From Mitch Miller to Roots. From the Apollo Theater to Broadway. Featuring direction by Stormy Weather's (2009) Michael Bush and musical direction by Don Rebic, the show played earlier this year at New York City's Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Tony Award-winner Leslie Uggams (Hallelujah, Baby!) opened her exclusive three-week engagement - her first New York cabaret appearance in 18 years - at the Cafe Carlyle last night, March 30. 'Leslie Uggams: Uptown Downtown' will play through Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the famed night spot. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the opening night celebration, as were friends Celisse Henderson, Capathia Jenkins, Chuck Cooper, Tommy Tune, Karen Akers and more.

Don Rebic will be musical director with Matt Wigton on bass and Ray Grappone on percussion. The performances will take place on Tuesday, November 10 at 7:00 and Saturday, November 14 at 9:45.
