Production has just begun in New York, with Michael Ealy (Barbershop, Takers) joining the cast as a new series regular for season four. Ealy joins the cast as Detective Don Carter, a rising NYPD officer who was on track to become Police Commissioner, until his wife was killed in a crossfire between rival drug gangs.

Ryan Jamaal Swain, Donnell E. Smith, Clinton Lowe and Sidiki Fofana will star in the award-winning playwright James Ijames' "Kill Move Paradise," opening at Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre (NBT) this spring. The world premiere production is also the New York City debut of Ijames, a Whiting Award winner. Saheem Ali ("Nollywood," "The Booty Call," and "The Erlkings") will direct. The provocative production closes the historic theater's 48th season, "In Pursuit of Black Joy," and runs from May 31 through June 25.

Anaheim's official resident theater company, Chance Theater is pleased to the addition of five additional performances of … A Chorus Line. 'Natural Life' by Eduardo Ivan Lopez tells the tale of a death row inmate convicted of murder. But unlike the heroes of 'The Exonerated,' she is guilty of the crime. The play is inspired by a true incident in the 1980's.  T. Schreiber Theatre, 151 West 26th Street, will present the play's world premiere March 2 to April 2, directed by Jake Turner.

Sam Gold directs the cast of seven, which also includes Alex Breaux as 'Brodie,' Ronan Raftery as 'Billy' and Madeline Weinstein as 'Debbie.' The Real Thing officially opened last night, October 30, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). This is a limited engagement thru January 4, 2015. Seven artists from Phoenix, Tucson and Scottsdale have created awards for each of the Governor's Arts Awards six categories and the Shelley Award to be presented at the 33rd annual event today, March 25 at The Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main Street in Mesa.
