Guest vocalists Dominique Labelle (soprano), Susanne Mentzer (mezzo-soprano), Adam Diegel (tenor), and David Pittsinger (bass-baritone) join the Columbus Symphony, Columbus Symphony Chorus, and Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni for a one-night-only season opening performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, the world renowned Ode to Joy. The evening's program will also include Handel's grand ode for the coronation of England's King George II and a gentle motet by Mozart.

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) will enter into a new phase of development with a 2012/2013 season marked by notable artistic collaborations and chamber music programs and the Carnegie Hall main stage debut of its recently-appointed Principal Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado. The season kicks off with the free Subway Series and food drive, reflecting OSL's continuing commitment to community engagement throughout New York City and at its state-of-the-art new home, The DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

The North Carolina Symphony and WUNC 91.5FM have partnered to present great music for a summer evening all season long. Newly announced this week, the schedule has been extended to run every Monday, now through Sept. 3. Favorite Symphony performances from the past concert season will be broadcast on Monday night, 10:00 p.m. to midnight.

A leading figure in the movement for historically informed performance, Norrington will bring his keen perspective to a program of late-18th century works by three great masters of the Viennese Classical era: Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Giving his first concert with OSL in New York City, virtuoso pianist Jeremy Denk will perform as featured soloist.
