The Wild Root Company, a new production endeavor committed to developing new works from emerging playwrights and screenwriters, announced today full casting and creative team for its one-night-only benefit reading of Gloria, a brand new screenplay adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's masterpiece The Beautiful and Damned. All profits raised from the evening, which will take place at The Mainstage at Playwrights Horizons on Monday January 6, 2014 at 8:00 pm, will go to the Ali Forney Center for Homeless LGBTQ Youth. Broadway legend, Tony and Drama Desk Award winner Dick Latessa (Broadway's The Lyons, Promises, Promises, Brighton Beach Memoirs) will star in the reading directed by two-time Drama Desk Award nominee Ed Sylvanus Iskandar (Restoration Comedy, These Seven Sicknesses).

Douglas Evans, producer of the invitation-only industry reading scheduled for November 18th and 19th of the new musical drama Walllenberg, announced today that Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys) will perform the role of Raoul Wallenberg and lead a cast of Broadway performers including Sierra Boggess (Little Mermaid, Les Miserables tour and West End production of Love Never Dies) and Tony Award-winner Dick Latessa (Hairspray).

Today we are talking to an inordinately talented triple-threat performer who made his name on Broadway in some landmark productions, such as the original multi-Tony Award-winning HAIRSPRAY and THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, in addition to his peerless work in Lincoln Center's lauded SOUTH PACIFIC revival, who now is best known to audiences around the world for his headlining role on FOX's mega-hit musical dramedy series GLEE - the charismatic Matthew Morrison. Sharing stories from his Broadway days as well as looking ahead to the new season of GLEE airing in September, Morrison paints a vivid picture of his musical theatre career thus far and touches upon his experiences in the aforementioned musicals on the Great White Way as well as THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, A NAKED GIRL ON THE APPIAN WAY and more, detailing his ascent from chorus boy to superstar. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that a New York City Workshop of Rags is currently underway at the Roundabout Theatre Company, featuring Jessie Mueller, Matt Doyle as Ben, and Josh Young. Gordon Greenberg will direct the project, which is set to take place this June.

The 2013 Honorees are Tony Award winners Katie Finneran and Kathleen Marshall, and in memoriam, CANY Founding Chairperson, Janet L. Levy.
