The Wild Root Company, a non-profit New York City-based production endeavor committed to cultivating and presenting bold news works of theatre and film from emerging playwrights and screenwriters, will present a series of fully staged workshop performances of ROOM AT THE END OF THE HALL March 6-8, 2014 at the Fourth Street Theatre in Manhattan.

Drama Desk nominee Claybourne Elder (Broadway's Bonnie and Clyde, Tennessee Williams' One Arm) who currently stars as Pete on the CW's "The Carrie Diaries" and Sean Hudock (Titan Theatre's A Midsummer Night's Dream, "Private Romeo") will play estranged brothers Malky and Doug respectively in the March workshop presentations of the two-hander. Ross Evans (Broadway's Beautiful, Venus in Fur) will direct with scenic design by Edward T. Morris (Yale Rep's Stones In His Pockets). Katie Chew will Stage Manage. The ROOM AT THE END OF THE HALL creative team also includes Kaitlin Paul, Chris Vongsawat and Stephanie Cowan.

ROOM AT THE END OF THE HALL transports audiences to the late night shore of a weathered lake home on Cape Cod where estranged brothers Doug and Malky have returned for the first time in years to bury the ashes of their recently deceased caretaker. But tonight, a simple act of closure unearths the haunting remains of a troubled past and an unsettling force that must be reckoned with before daybreak.

Hailed as a "gripping and moving, powerful family drama" by the Connecticut Post, ROOM AT THE END OF THE HALL played to strong response in invited industry readings of the work in early 2013 at the Creative Center at Manhattan Theatre Club. The play was previously named a semi-finalist at the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference and at the Premiere Stages Festival.
