New York Live Arts Presents 2015-16 'Fresh Tracks' Performance Showcase This Weekend

New York Live Arts recently announced the artists selected for the 2015-2016 Fresh Tracks Performance and Residency Program. The 2015-2016 Fresh Tracks artists are Melanie Greene, Sarah Lifson, Eli Tamondong, EmmaGrace Skove-Epes and Jonathan Gonzalez, and Georgia Wall and Itamar Segev. These artists will present their works in the Fresh Tracks performance showcase, this weekend, February 5 - 6, 2016, at 7:30pm.

BWW Review: Ringing in the New Year with DANCE THEATRE OF HARLEM

This past Thursday, Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) opened its doors to the community for an intimate gathering in their studios at the Everett Center of the Performing Arts on 152nd Street (between Amsterdam and St. Nicholas Avenues) to ring in the new year. As part of their Thursdays@DTH series, this evening's theme, Making Dance Communicate, consisted of an open rehearsal of two pieces and a conversation led by Artistic Director Virginia Johnson, with the incomparable Dianne McIntyre and the legendary Carmen de Lavallade.

New York Live Arts Announces 2015-16 'Fresh Tracks Residency and Performance' Recipients

New York Live Arts today announced the artists selected for the 2015-2016 Fresh Tracks Performance and Residency Program. Dancing Wheels Celebrates LASTING LEGACY at Playhouse Square Tonight

The Dancing Wheels Company presents a world premiere concert tonight, Oct. 10 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of America's first-and-foremost Physically Integrated Dance Company and the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (the iconic law that changed the face of equality for persons with disabilities throughout the U.S.).

City College Center for the Arts and Clark Center NYC to Present FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH

City College Center for the Arts and Clark Center NYC join together in celebration of The Clark Center for the Performing Arts with a presentation of the acclaimed dance/narrative series From the Horse's Mouth on Thursday, October 1 and Friday October 2 at Aaron Davis Hall. The From the Horse's Mouth production will serve as the culmination of Clark Center NYC's weeklong residency at City College Center for the Arts, made possible, in part, by funding from the CUNY Dance Initiative. Performances of From the Horse's Mouth begin at 7pm. A reception will follow the October 1 performance.

Goodman Theatre Announces March-April 2015 Lineup for Citywide August Wilson Celebration

Goodman Theatre, in collaboration with Chicago's various off-Loop theaters and Northwestern University, unveils partial programming in its spring 2015 citywide "August Wilson Celebration" -- an extensive retrospective of the late playwright's life, artistry and influence on American culture. The seven-week Celebration takes place in March and April 2015 on dual landmark occasions: the 70th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright's birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.

Ohio State University Department of Dance's DANCE DOWNTOWN Set for 11/22-23

Four award-winning contemporary choreographers take inspiration from expressive guitar music to create this year's Dance Downtown, the annual concert that showcases the talents of undergraduate and graduate dance majors in The Ohio State University Department of Dance. The production will be staged at 8 pm Friday, November 22, and Saturday, November 23, at the Capitol Theatre, Riffe Center, 77 South High St. in downtown Columbus.

For her all-new 10th anniversary production, Taylor has engaged community partners and used workshops to explore and deepen the spoken word, dance and music elements in Crowns.
