Actor Jeremy Irons will return to the Royal Shakespeare Company this spring to lead the cast of a new play, THE GODS WEEP. The world premiere, by Dennis Kelly, plays at the Hampstead theatre from March 12 thru April 3.

Provision Theater Company, a multi-Jeff nominated Equity theater company, will round out their 2009-10 season with the World Premiere of THE HIDING PLACE. Based on the bestselling autobiography by Corrie ten Boon, THE HIDING PLACE is the true story of a family that fought the Nazi madness with the only weapon they had: love. With the WWII Nazi invasion of Holland, the ten Boom family joins the underground resistance to help save Jewish families, but when they are arrested and imprisoned in concentration camps themselves, they're left with nothing to cling to but their faith.

Artistic Director of the internationally acclaimed Donmar Warehouse, Michael Grandage, today announced new details surrounding the new Donmar season through until February 2011 including. Casting has been announced for Polar Bears; David Leveaux has been pronounced director of Simon Gray's The Late Middle Class; von Kleist's The Prince of Homburg has been added to the season; new events in celebration of Sondheim's 80th birthday - in addition to the production of Passion - have been revealed; and Michael Grandage has been confirmed to direct Derek Jacobi in King Lear.

Stage and screen star Jeremy Irons will star in Showtime's new historical drama The Borgias. The new series, replacing Showtime's The Tudors, will premiere in early 2011. Creator Neil Jordan executive produces alongside Michael Hirst who produced The Tudors. The Tudors will end its four year run this year. Jordan will reportedly helm the first two episodes.

MATILDA, a new musical based on author Roald Dahl's 1988 children's book of the same name will be staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. Hampstead Theatre's third new writing festival, Daring Pairings 3, will be the climax of its 50th Anniversary celebrations, announced on Tuesday 30 June. The first major revival of Philip Ridley's malevolent comedy, The Fastest Clock in the Universe opens the season which also includes a debut play from 20 year old Atiha Sen Gupta and a spooky seasonal offering from Michael Punter.

Georgia Shakespeare honors Atlanta arts advocates Bob and Margaret Reiser with the inaugural Spirit of Will Award which will be presented at the theatre's annual fundraiser Bard's Bash 2009: A Mad Hatter Gala, Saturday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Conant Performing Arts Center (4484 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30319). Tickets to the event are $150 each and all proceeds benefit Georgia Shakespeare's educational programs, including the upcoming production Alice in Wonderland.

Amongst Friends is a darkly comic satire directed by Anthony Clark and designed by Patrick Connellan and opens on Tuesday 26 May with previews from Thursday 21 May.
