The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) presents the third annual Morry and Dolores Kohl Kaplan Northwestern Day on Oct. 13 on the Northwestern University campus, and the seventh annual Hyde Park Day on Oct. 20 on the University of Chicago campus. These two annual events kick off the 2013 Fall Festival, which will explore the theme of Animal: What Makes Us Human with 88 events throughout Chicago in October and Nov. 1-10.
The Art House in Provincetown will be in high gear again next month for Women's Week. Comedian Judy Gold returns by popular demand October 16 - 19. Signature Theatre is pleased to announce the casting of award winner Christine Lahti (Running on Empty, Swing Shift,Chicago Hope) in this fall's world-premiere drama Pride in the Falls of Autrey Mill, written by Paul Downs Colaizzo (Really Really). Lahti, whose acclaimed 30-year career in theatre, television and film places her in the highest echelon of American actresses, joins this fall's production under the direction of Shakespeare Theatre Company Artistic Director Michael Kahn, who returns to Signature for the first time in nearly twenty years. Proving that a great show is always in fashion, Philadelphia Theatre Company closes its 2012-2013 season with Love, Loss and What I Wore on June 25-July 7 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. This intimate collection of stories by sisters Nora and Delia Ephron and directed by Karen Carpenter is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman. Like the popular book, the show uses clothing, accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories to which all women can relate. This production is presented by special arrangement with Daryl Roth.
