Westport Country Playhouse will stage 'And a Nightingale Sang,' a love story surrounding a working-class British family during World War II. Written by C. P. Taylor, and directed by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director, the play runs now through June 27. The title is based on the 1940s popular song, 'And a Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square,' which, among other music of the war years, is included in the play. The all-new Barrymore Awards Ceremony will be held Monday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. at The Merriam Theater at 250 S. Broad Street, immediately followed by an After-Party in the Commonwealth Plaza at The Kimmel Center.
There is no other theatre that is more perfect for a production of VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE than Bucks County Playhouse. So not only does this show entertain audiences, but it is easy for the audience to visualize the setting that Durang envisioned because they are sitting in the midst of Bucks County. VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE is a smart play, as well as has a cast that is charming.

The pair's static existence is abruptly disturbed when Masha, their movie star sibling who funds their life of unhappy leisure, returns for a weekend with her twenty-something boy toy in tow, announcing that she plans to sell the house.
