As New York City's premier theater for kids and families, The New Victory Theater announces its 2016-17 season. From September 30, 2016 through May 21, 2017, the New Victory 2016-17 season will feature two world premieres, six U.S. premieres and six NY premieres among its 15 productions from 11 different countries around the world.

Recommended for children age 3 and up, Sleeping Beauty: The Time Traveler and Her New Millennium Prince is an upbeat and fun musical fairy tale that is sure to entertain the littlest audience members, as well as the little kid inside all of the adults who bring the little ones to the theatre! With music by Deborah Wicks La Puma and lyrics by Andrea Dodd combined with Janet Stanford's storytelling, this family-friendly show is a great start to the Players Clubs trio of Children's Theatre productions taking place this summer.

LOOKING FOR ROBERTO CLEMENTE is back again for a second production at Bethesda's Imagination Stage, one of premiere locations for theatre for young audiences in the DMV. From wee ones in booster seats to parents and grandparents, this musical play hits a huge home-run. Writer Karen Zacarias and composer Deborah Wicks La Puma have fashioned a rock-infused musical that entertains while sliding home a message of friendship and loyalty and the deeper lessons a hero can teach us.

What? Not like ELEPHANT & PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY? "Unpossible!" This is the cute, cute, cutest production to come out of the Rose Theater in a long time. Everything about it is delightful!

Over the past season or two, we've seen our fair share of professional productions of OLIVER in the DC area. Adventure Theatre MTC took a stab at it over the summer and Arena Stage offered up a steampunk version of the classic musical a few months ago. While the Kennedy Center's current TYA production of OLIVERio: A BRAZILIAN TWIST shares the same Charles Dickens-penned source material, those looking for the familiar Lionel Bart musical will find that what's being offered up onstage at the Kennedy Center is quite different - and not just the setting. A Kennedy Center commission featuring a book and lyrics by Karen Zacarias and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma, OLIVERio: A BRAZILIAN TWIST explores what would happen if a theatre company intended to stage a standard production of OLIVER set in 19th century London, but suddenly realized the available scenic design (Luciana Stecconi) and costumes (Ivania Stack) wouldn't quite work for that purpose.

The Kennedy Center presents the world premiere production of OLIVERio: A Brazilian Twist in the Kennedy Center Family Theater from January 30-February 21, 2016. Part of the Kennedy Center's Theater for Young Audiences 2015-2016 season, the production is inspired by the literary classic, Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist, directed by Juliette Carillo, with book and lyrics by Karen Zacarias and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma. The press opening performance is Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. OLIVERio is most appropriate for patrons ages 9 and up and their families. 

The Kennedy Center production of ELEPHANT & PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY! launches its first national tour January 11, 2016 as part of the Center's Theater for Young Audiences on Tour series for young people and their families.

MainStreet Theatre Company, celebrating its 10th season, is delighted to announce the California premiere of Elephant & Piggie's "We are in a Play!" Art Manke is the Director/Choreographer, with Musical Direction by the show's composer, Deborah Wicks-La Puma. The production will play eight school performances from October 5th - 9th, and open to the public on Saturday, October 10th at 4pm. The strictly limited engagement will run through Sunday, October 25th only.
