Mabou Mines will present preview performances of The Vicksburg Project, May 11 - 15, May 18 - 22, May 25 - 29, 2022 (at Mabou Mines, 150 1st Avenue, Second Floor, New York), in anticipation of its premiere at Harlem Stage in 2023.

The Royal Opera House today announces its 2022/23 Season, unveiling a rich range of new work, world premieres and beloved revivals. Over 40 productions, performed by an incredible roster of international stars and created in collaboration with global companies, will be accompanied by more than 200 events and activities in our stunning Covent Garden Home, and outreach programmes reaching more than 27,000 children across the UK. 

The 2013 production of Tchaikovsky's Pushkin-inspired opera EUGENE ONEGIN has triumphantly returned to the Met. I attended the final dress rehearsal and can attest to the fact that the story of Tatyana's infatuation with, and later rejection of, the eponymous 'hero' is vocally in superb hands. Both singers and orchestra were splendid.

Tchaikovsky's tragic romance Eugene Onegin returns to the Met for six performances March 25–April 14.

There are few operas which, at once, gives some insight into the history of the current UK opera scene, the sexual politics of the 1940s and the darkness within Benjamin Britten’s mind. Peter Grimes does all that and also provides a visceral and heart-rending story, deep in meaning, high in emotion.

The schedule includes a week entitled From Page to Stage, featuring operas based on works by some of history’s great writers, and a week of fairy-tale operas entitled Once Upon a Time. The 1987 telecast of Puccini’s Turandot, with Eva Marton, Leona Mitchell, Plácido Domingo, and Paul Plishka, will be streamed for the first time on April 17.

Theatre Royal Bath has announced the appointment of internationally acclaimed and multi-award-winning theatre and opera director Deborah Warner as the new Artistic Director of the Ustinov Studio. The production marks Rhorer's fifth Mozart opera with Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and Gray's operatic directing debut.
