Miami's Mad Cat Theatre Company has been committed to creating an alternate theatrical universe for eleven years now by specializing in their own brand of irreverent and always evolving, never arriving original plays. Now Mad Cat is continuing that tradition with the Miami Light Project which is presenting So My Grandmother Died, Blah Blah Blah at the new Light Box at Goldman Warehouse located at 404 NW 26th Street in the Wynwood Art Gallery District in Miami.

The show follows the classic love story of a young couple. While out together running some errands and enjoying their newly-engaged bliss, the sweethearts unwittingly stumble into a full-fledged zombie attack. What follows is a musically accompanied account of the skin crawling, zombie fighting, brain craving mayhem and a true testament to the couple's 'Undying Love.' Broadsword at Miami's Mad Cat Theatre Company and Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them at Plantation's Mosaic Theatre tied with five nods each as the most recognized plays for the annual honors to be held on Monday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale.

2009 could go down as the year of the musical with seven of the top 10 nominated shows edging out the edgier dramas for the 34th annual Carbonell Awards nominations celebrating the best shows and performances in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
