SONG OF THE LIVING DEAD First Regional Production At TPT

By: Jul. 14, 2011

The Promethean Theatre announced its summer musical opening August 12.

In keeping with their theme of summer fun and mayhem and their successfully bloody runs of Cannibal! The Musical and Evil Dead The Musical, they are pleased to present the first regional production of Song of the Living Dead, a Zombie Musical.

Breaking box office records, at Dad's Garage Theatre Company in Atlanta, this action packed musical had its World Premiere there in 2008.

The show follows the classic love story of a young couple. While out together running some errands and enjoying their newly-engaged bliss, the sweethearts unwittingly stumble into a full-fledged zombie attack. What follows is a musically accompanied account of the skin crawling, zombie fighting, brain craving mayhem and a true testament to the couple's "Undying Love." Named Creative Loafing Readers' Pick for Best Theater Premiere & Best Play in Atlanta, The Promethean Theatre is the first theatre outside of Dad's Garage to produce this play.

Song of the Living Dead, A Zombie Musical is written by Matt Horgan and Travis Sharp with music by Eric Frampton, and Matt Horgan.
