Serenbe Playhouse, recipient of the prestigious American Theatre Wing grant, and recently honored with the most Suzi Bass Awards for a musical in Atlanta (Miss Saigon), is pleased to present CABARET, by Joe Masteroff and John Kander and Fred Ebb. Directed by Brian Clowdus, the show opens on August 3rd and runs to August 27th. CABARET will be produced at The Open Air Room in Serenbe. The first emotion audiences will see in the award-winning musical "Hairspray" at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre is unabashed joy. Lovable plus size teen Tracy Turnblad begins the show with an enthusiastic love song to Baltimore as she dances and sings while wearing the signature mile-high bouffant hairdo sported by teen girls everywhere in 1962 America.

Atlanta audiences are invited into a beautiful fable, told through song, dance, stage magic, and puppetry, about an aspiring rocker-girl who falls into a magician-dad's bag of tricks. 

Local actors, directors and playwrights Chase Ramsey and David Smith knew they wanted to create a musical work for young people based on 'Alice in Wonderland.' After all, who isn't delighted by the motley crew of charming characters that inhabit Alice's world?

Even though Robinne Booth had never seen "The Happy Elf" before SCERA Center for the Arts asked her to direct the musical, she knew that with a musical score by Harry Connick, Jr., it was bound to be good.
