Singer and actress Gia Mora will sing the songs of Hoagy Carmichael on Sunday, March 4, 2018 as part of the Cabaret On Sundays Series presented by Les Michaels at the Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert. Tickets for Gia Mora in "The Cool, Cool, Cool, of The Evening" with Rick Chinisci on guitar are available for $15 cash only at the door.

BroadwayWorld is sad to share the news today that legendary filmmaker Rick McKay has passed away earlier this week. A longtime friend of the web site, and constant presence in the theatre world, McKay has long been at work on two sequels to his 2004 hit film, Broadway: The Golden Age.

Each year, The Wick Theatre and Costume Museum stages a production selected by their fans, this season, the iconic Singin' in the Rain takes that honor. 'We were so excited when Singin' in the Rain won our fan poll,' said Marilynn A. Wick, Managing Executive Producer. Who doesn't appreciate the beloved film Singing in the Rain? Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor sang and danced their way into our hearts in this 1952 movie classic about the pandemonium that plagued the movie industry in the late 1920s when motion pictures morphed from silence to full sound. In the film, Monumental Pictures found themselves with a popular silent film star who possessed an awful speaking and singing voice and would not transition well in to the new world of movies with sound. What to do, what to do. If you have seen the film, you know how the winsome story evolves.

MainStage Irving-Las Colinas will present Alec Coppel's suspenseful and funny comedy THE GAZEBO, running January 19 through February 3, 2018, at the Irving Arts Center's Dupree Theater (3333 N. The Pudding is excited to honor a talented actress, whose career has taken her from television to film and now to producing as well.

Iconic singer-songwriter John Gorka's new studio album, TRUE IN TIME, is premiering now at NPR's Folk Alley. They cite the album's 'deep and meaningful songs' and write that 'Gorka's soulful voice, songwriting, and guitar work are what we're here for, and they are given center stage.' TRUE IN TIME will be released on Friday, January 19, 2018 on Red House Records. John will be one of the performers at Folk Alliance International this year performing at a special showcase celebrating Red House's 35th Anniversary. Details will be announced soon.
