Managing Director Dean R. Gladden announced today that Brandon Kahn has been appointed as General Manager of the Alley Theatre. A native Houstonian, Brandon joins the Alley from Williamstown Theatre Festival where he served over six seasons as Resident Production Stage Manager, Associate Line Producer, and most recently as the Producing Manager. Brandon will assume his General Manager duties October 22.

Due to popular demand, the Alley Theatre announces additional performances of the 2018 ExxonMobil Summer Chills production Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, extending the play through September 16. The Alley Theatre and Interim Artistic Director James Black announce the cast and crew of the ExxonMobil Summer Chills production, Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, offering a cool escape from the sizzling summer heat. TodayTix, the international ticketing platform on a mission to redefine the way people experience theater, has partnered with the Alley Theatre to offer the first mobile Rush in Houston on the TodayTix app. The mobile Rush will offer exclusive access to $20 tickets, beginning with the theater's production of "The Cake," running June 1 to July 1, 2018, and continuing with "Holmes and Watson," running June 22 to July 22, 2018.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core will add four performances to the run The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter, directed by Lauren Shouse, and featuring RTE Founders Tara Mallen and Keith Kupferer, RTE Member Krystel McNeil, with Tuckie White.  Eight performances have been added to the run, which must close June 2, 2018 at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced casting for the New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist and Lortel and Obie Award winner Rajiv Joseph's (Guards at the Taj) play Describe the Night, directed by Giovanna Sardelli (Animals Out of Paper).

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced 89 awards totaling $6.89 million supporting projects across the nation through the NEA's Our Town program. The Alley Theatre is one of the recommended organizations for a grant of $125,000 to support the launch of a city-wide Latino Theatre Initiative, El Zocalo. The NEA received 274 eligible applications for Our Town this year and will make grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000.
