Leslie Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair) and Kyle Dean Massey (Pippin, Next to Normal) join the slate of performers scheduled for Broadway Sings Tori, a one-night concert benefitting RAINN on Monday, April 20th. The concert will feature the music of legendary singer-songwriter Tori Amos.
On the next episode of ABC's NASHVILLE titled "I Can't Keep Away From You", Rayna refuses to let Deacon wallow in his condition, but her support only frustrates him and pushes him away.
A new concert series curated by the renowned Tony Award-winning composer, lyricist, conductor, and director, Jason Robert Brown. Each unique performance will incorporate an eclectic mix of material, featuring music from throughout his acclaimed career, along with new works in development. This performance will feature Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, If/Then), Kyle Dean Massey (Pippin, Wicked, Next to Normal), and Lindsay Mendez (Wicked, Godspell) on April 20, 2015 at 10 PM.
Last week was a whirwind of backstabbing, WTF moments, and OMGs... in true NASHVILLE style, of course. Jeff Fordham is where the majority of us want him to be... screwed over and left with (almost) nothing. Except the opportunity to expose and humiliate Teddy, that is. Layla has been signed to Rayna's label, Highway 65, though what can come of that is anybody's guess. Sadie Stone has finally come clean to Rayna regarding her past, and the label has stepped up and in to hopefully solve all problems- though we know that's most likely not the case. Lastly, Gunnar, Avery, and Scarlett have temporarily reunited their band- to everybody's satisfaction- but especially the Bluebird Cafe's. The record labels' worlds are flipped upside down, but for the first time in a while, things at the Bluebird- and for Gunnar, Avery, and Scarlett, and their band, are right-side up.
On the next episode of ABC's NASHIVILLE titled "That's the Way Love Goes" - Rayna's anniversary of her induction into the Grand Ole Opry is cause for celebration and guest starring cameos by country stars Vince Gill and Lorrie Morgan as themselves.

When I was 11, I was in the chorus of a community theatre production of a little show called Pippin. For me, it was what taught me that theatre could be a magical thing. For some reason, as I grew up, I always kind of identified with Pippin's story - which I'm sure is the point of the show somewhat.
Combining acrobatics with choreography (by Chet Walker) that recalls Bob Fosse's original work on the show, the current touring company of PIPPIN(book by Roger O. Hirson with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz) at the Peabody Opera House provides quite an enjoyable spectacle. There's a circus-like quality (courtesy of Gypsy Singer) to this presentation that's unexpected, and even a bit magical, making it more suitable for the younger set than some versions, even though most of its sexier elements are still firmly intact. It's certainly well worthy of your time and attention.
