Casting for Steppenwolf's GARAGE REP 2015 Announced!

Now in its sixth year, Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents Garage Rep 2015, featuring three cutting-edge Chicago companies producing bold work in rotating repertory for ten weeks under Steppenwolf's banner. This year's Garage Rep features Cold Basement Dramatics' production of Heat Wave, Pride Films and Plays' production of Angry Fags and Red Tape Theatre's production of The Walk Across America for Mother Earth. Casting and creative teams for each production included below. Performances run February 20, 2015 - April 26, 2015 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N. Halsted St.). Press weekend is March 7 and 8. MARIE ANTOINETTE, GRAND CONCOURSE and More Set for Steppenwolf's 2015 Season; Tickets Go on Sale Today

Steppenwolf Theatre Company kicks off the New Year with the Chicago premiere production of Marie Antoinette (February 5, 2015 - May 10, 2015), a modern, witty take on the young queen of France by David Adjmi (Elective Affinities, 3C) and directed by Robert O'Hara (Bootycandy). Next is the US premiere of The Herd (April 2, 2015 - June 7, 2015), the deftly comic story of a suburban English family by actor-playwright Rory Kinnear. Ensemble member and Tony Award winner Frank Galati directs in place of previously announced director K. Todd Freeman, who had an artistic scheduling conflict. Ensemble member Lois Smith joins the cast of The Herd, which features fellow ensemble members Francis Guinan and John Mahoney.

Pride Films and Plays' THE BOOK OF MERMAN Opens in January

Pride Films and Plays announces that Sam Button-Harrison* and Dan Gold join Libby Lane* as the cast of The Book of Merman, a new musical comedy by Jeff Award-winning playwright Leo Schwartz. The show opens on January 17, 2015 at Mary's Attic, 5400 North Clark Street.

The 2014 BroadwayWorld Chicago Award nominations are announced, Lyric presents 'Porgy' and 'Carousel,' 'Camelot' opens, 'Ring Of Fire' and 'Annie' return, 'Annie' and 'Ani' hit screens, parodies of 'Guffman,' the Merman/Mormon thing, Rudolph and Tupperware, and a suburban 'Garden!'

The Ruckus Welcomes New Leaders, Sets 2015 Season

Following a successful fifth season with productions at The Side Project Theatre and Collaboraction, The Ruckus Theater is proud to announce its sixth season in Chicago, as well as the appointment of a new Artistic Director and Executive Director. Outgoing Artistic Director Allison Shoemaker, who will now serve as the company's Director of Marketing and Publicity, and incoming Artistic Director Derek Van Barham release today a season of two plays, each investigating the impact of cataclysm on a community. In addition to announcing Barham's appointment, the company also proudly announces the appointment of Catherine Bullard as Executive Director.

Vermont Pride Theater Kicks Off 4th Annual Summer Pride Festival Today

Vermont Pride Theater at Chandler announces its 4th annual Summer Pride Festival of LGBT plays in Randolph, Vermont, this weekend, July 18-20 and 25-27. This season it will offer full productions of three exciting scripts, none of which has been presented before in Vermont. These will be directed and performed by an ensemble of Equity and non-Equity theater artists from across the nation, and presented in Randolph's historic Chandler Music Hall, listed on the National Historic Register.
