Jay Españo Does Movement for AT THE FLASH, Runs Thru 12/16

Former Tanghalang Pilipino actor Jay Españo has taken assistant director and movement coordinator responsibilities in the recently opened 'At the Flash,' a one-actor, five-character play that condenses LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) history from the 1960s to the 2000s.

Five Finalists Named in PFP's Great Gay Play Contest

Five finalists have been named in Pride Films and Plays' Great Gay Play Contest for 2013. These five plays will be performed as enhanced staged readings (with movement and design elements) by members of the Artistic Ensemble of Pride Films and Plays during Gay Play Weekend, May 16 to 19, 2013 at Center on Halsted's Hoover-Leppen Theatre, 3656 N. Halsted, Chicago. A full performance schedule for the weekend will be announced in January.

Pride Films and Plays Now Accepting Great Gay Play and Musical Contest Entries Through 10/22

Pride Films and Plays is accepting entries into the Great Gay Play and Musical Contest now through October 22, 2012. Each of the five finalists will receive $400, and their scripts will be performed as 'enhanced staged readings' during Gay Play Weekend at Center on Halsted, Chicago, in spring 2013.

Denis Jones (Legally Blonde, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Broadway Bares) is directing and choreographing. Book and Lyrics is by Broadway and theatre veteran, Stephan de Ghelder. Music is by Brad Simmons, most recently musical director, Lysistrata Jones.
