Chief Conductor Charles Dutoit and The Philadelphia Orchestra join together with arts and cultural organizations throughout the city for the inaugural Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA). The festival will end on May 1, 2011. Audiences will revel in an array of one-time, only-in-Philadelphia productions by many of the region's top talents. The Philadelphia Orchestra celebrates its 30-year musical partnership with Chief Conductor Charles Dutoit in the 2010-11 season. Highlights of Mr. Dutoit's nine subscription weeks with the Orchestra include the 2010-11 Opening Night with violinist Joshua Bell; the U.S. premiere of James MacMillan's Violin Concerto, co-commissioned by the Orchestra, with Vadim Repin; the world premiere of Jonathan Leshnoff's Flute Concerto with Principal Flute Jeffrey Khaner; and Berlioz's The Damnation of Faust with mezzo-soprano Susan Graham and tenor Paul Groves. Mr. Dutoit also leads the Orchestra in three performances at New York's Carnegie Hall and a performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Bay Street's FIFTH OF JULY begins previews Tuesday, July 6th through Friday, July 9th, with opening night Saturday, July 10th. The show runs Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm, with matinees on Wednesdays at 2pm and Saturdays at 4pm except during preview week. On Tuesday, July 13th following the performance there will be a talkback with the actors. The show will close on Sunday, August 1st. Please note that this performance will contain partial nudity.
