Theatr Clwyd's World Première THE ASSASSINATION OF KATIE HOPKINS Wins Best Musical At UK Theatre Awards

At a ceremony today at London's Guildhall, Theatr Clwyd's ground-breaking production of The Assassination of Katie Hopkins was named Best Musical Production at today's UK Theatre Awards, which celebrated outstanding achievements in regional theatre throughout the UK over the past year. Hosted by Tyrone Huntley, the Awards showcase the wealth of theatrical talent across the UK.

BWW Previews: SOMETHING ROTTEN at Wermland Opera

The musical 'Something Rotten' will have it's European opening night the 8th of November at Wermland Opera in Karlstad, Sweden. The brother Bottom are struggling play writers in hard competition with William Shakespeare. They are told that the future is in plays with music and dance by a local oracle. So they decide to write the first musical ever. It is a funny show and they promise tap dancing!

SAG-AFTRA Calls Strike Against Advertising Agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty

SAG-AFTRA today called a strike against advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, LLC (BBH) after the union's National Board unanimously voted to issue a strike authorization. Members have been instructed to not accept any work for BBH, which is illegally attempting to abandon its union contract with SAG-AFTRA. 

SAG-AFTRA National Board Unanimously Approves Historic Agreement With Telemundo Television Studios

The SAG-AFTRA National Board met today in a one-day video-conference plenary and unanimously approved the historic first-ever tentative agreement reached with Telemundo Television Studios on July 12 covering Spanish-language television performers. The board also approved the tentative agreement made with the major broadcast television networks on June 9. With the board's approval, the National Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting (the Network Television Code) now goes to the union's membership for ratification.

SAG-AFTRA Issues Statement On The Passing Of New York Assembly Bill A.8155-B

On behalf of New York's SAG-AFTRA members, the union commends New York Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, Majority Leader Joseph Morelle, and Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein and their colleagues in the New York State Assembly for passing A.8155-B. SAG-AFTRA Inks Historic Collaboration With ZEUS, SVOD Streaming Service

SAG-AFTRA has reached a historic agreement with ZEUS, the new subscription video on demand streaming service founded by television executive producer Lemuel Plummer and co-founded by social media superstars King Bach, Amanda Cerny and DeStorm Power. The three influencers have a combined audience of almost 70 million followers across all social media platforms. The agreement, which provides coverage for content produced by ZEUS and a pathway to SAG-AFTRA membership for ZEUS content creators, was announced today from Social Media Week Los Angeles.

Max Richter's 8-hour Masterpiece SLEEP Comes to NYC May 4 & 5

After a successful North American debut of the live performance of his 8-hour masterpiece SLEEP, Max Richter brings the “intoxicating” (NPR) performance to New York City for the first time, for two nights of performances on May 4 & 5 at Spring Studios (50 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013). Doors will open at 9:00pm, the concert will begin at 10:30pm. Tickets will be announced on the artist's socials.

Breaking Glass Pictures to Release HOUSE OF EVIL On DVD/VOD In May

Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired US rights to the retro, haunted house horror feature HOUSE OF EVIL. Breaking Glass acquired rights to the film in October in a deal negotiated between Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff and Frederic Demy of The Story Forge, LTD.

Art Institute of Chicago Acquires Duchamp's Bottle Rack

The Art Institute of Chicago announced today a collection-changing acquisition of Marcel Duchamp's boundary breaking readymadeBottle Rack (1914/59). Signed by Duchamp in 1960 for its owner-a young Robert Rauschenberg-this ever-provocative and still-astonishing work has a deep connection to two significant artists who radically challenged and redefined our notions of 'art' and changed the course of art history. Acquired from the internationally respected Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, through Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, Paris, Duchamp's Bottle Rack will go on view today, February 13, 2018, in the Art Institute's Gallery 395B, contextualized within the museum's exceptional galleries of modern art.
