Producer Ken Davenport announced today that Hunter Parrish, star of the acclaimed Showtime series 'Weeds' and the recent Tony Award-winning hit Spring Awakening, is set to star as Jesus in the upcoming Broadway revival of the legendary rock musical GODSPELL.
In association with Silk Road Productions, Producer/Director Andy Lowe and Chinese Pirate Productions will present a live stage adaptation of the 3 episode musical web-series created by writer/director Joss Whedon. Sixteen (16) performances of the fan driven adaptation will be held at the 10th Avenue Theatre at 930 10th Avenue in Downtown San Diego, Ca 92101 from July 16th - 30th, 2011 to coincide with the 2011 annual International Comic Book Convention

The Drama Desk Awards ceremony was hosted by Harvey Fierstein on May 23 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan Center. This year, for the first time, a 90-minute Highlights Special of the Drama Desk Awards Ceremony will be televised nationally on OVATION, the national cable network dedicated to presenting creative arts programming to national TV audiences. Manhattan Theatre Club presented their annual Spring Gala last night, May 16, a special evening highlighting some of Broadway's most exciting shows, on Monday, May 16 at Gotham Hall. MTC's artistic director Lynne Meadow directed the evening, which was hosted by Tate Donovan (Good People) and Lily Rabe (The American Plan). The gala featured performances from the hit shows Baby It's You!, Catch Me If You Can, MTC's upcoming production of Master Class, Memphis, Rain, and Wicked.
