Main Street Theater collaborates with MECA Houston (Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts) to present a Mexican Pastorela, La Música del Cielo (Music from Heaven), written and directed by Peter Webster. The production will be presented in Spanish with English surtitles.
Parsons Dance Presents Two New Works at The Joyce Theater, 1/15-27

The company will also present a family matinee program that features kid-friendly Parsons Dance classics on Saturday, January 26 at 2pm. Both programs will include David Parsons' stroboscopic masterwork Caught. The Joyce Theater is located at 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street), NYC. Tickets range in price from $10-$59. Parsons Dance Company leaps into The Eccles Center spotlight on Saturday, December 15. Blending sexy athleticism and joyous movement, the troupe performs a mixed repertory show of new works and iconic pieces - including David Parsons' signature "Caught," which features a soloist leaping more than 100 times in six minutes with strobe lights creating the illusion of flight. Performance starts at 7:30 p.m.

First Howard Gilman Fellow David Parsons of Parsons Dance Receives MFA from Jacksonville University

This summer, David Parsons was awarded a Master of Fine Arts from Jacksonville University. Mr. Parsons was the first recipient of the Howard Gilman Fellowship to attend the MFA program at the university. This full tuition fellowship is given to one MFA candidate each year. One of the missions of the Howard Gilman Foundation at White Oak is to nurture the artist in development. The MFA at JU nurtures the development of rigorous and refined relationships between three aspects of creative production: stimulus, practice, and analysis.

Gotham Chamber Opera announces its 2012-2013 season of three productions, featuring two site-specific works. The season begins with GOTHAM @ LPR: ORIENTALE on October 1 and 3, 2012 at (Le) Poisson Rouge and continues with the New York Premiere of Francesco Cavalli's ELIOGABALO(1667) from March 15-29, 2013 at The Box, staged by James Marvel. The season will conclude in June with a production of Daniel Catán's 1988 opera, LA HIJA DE RAPPACCINI (Rappaccini's Daughter), in site-specific venues.
