The New York Philharmonic has announced plans for the 2020–21 season, Jaap van Zweden's third as Music Director. Van Zweden once again conducts a wide range of repertoire, including four World Premieres, a US Premiere, and symphonic cornerstones. As in his first two seasons as Music Director, he continues to connect with New Yorkers through impactful projects, performances, and collaborations with other cultural institutions, and conducts the Orchestra on an Asian tour.

This summer season at the Hollywood Bowl celebrates Academy Award-winning films and iconic music by some of the biggest names in film music: John Williams' stirring score for Jurassic Park; beloved music of George Gershwin from the Oscar-winning film An American Paris; and Nicholas Hooper's spectacular score for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Each film is shown in full on the Bowl's giant screen with the orchestra performing the music live.
A summer tradition returns to Riverbend Music Center on the Fourth of July when the Cincinnati Pops presents "Red, White, and BOOM," a concert celebrating American independence and musical traditions. John Morris Russell leads the family-friendly Pops performance, featuring guest artists Six-String Soldiers US Army Field Band, Cincinnati Pops Chorale, and Broadway star and Tony Award nominee Montego Glover -all this along with Rozzi's Famous Fireworks after the concert. The Pops series is presented by PNC and kids 17 and under are free on the lawn courtesy of Toyota.
July 5th marks the global release of the latest Cincinnati Pops Orchestra recording, Voyage, under the direction of Pops Conductor John Morris Russell. The first studio recording made at Cincinnati Music Hall following a major renovation draws inspiration from the stars and includes the world premiere recording of the title track by Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino. His composition, Voyage, was co-commissioned by the Cincinnati Pops and the National Symphony Orchestra and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing and the historic "giant leap for mankind."
