One of Broadway's most beloved musicals looked like a disaster in out-of-town previews.

Dolly is a great comic role, but it requires a great foil playing opposite her.

Long rumored, and first reported last night by BroadwayWorld after the star teased the news on Twitter, it's now Official! Producer Scott Rudin announced this morning that Bette Midler will indeed return to Broadway in one of the most cherished shows in musical theater history when she takes on the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi in Michael Stewart's (book) and Jerry Herman's (music and lyrics) masterpiece, Hello, Dolly!.

MERMAN'S APPRENTICE, starring Klea Blackhurst, Anita Gillette, Fred Applegate, Elizabeth Teeter and more, will play Birdland tonight, January 18, 2016.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! On Saturday, January 30th, Schimmel Center at Pace University will host SING-A-LONG-A GREASE after a wildly successful run in the fall of 2014. Audiences will sing along to the great movie musical, complete with on-screen lyrics and the chance to become a T-Bird or Pink Lady for the night and enter the costume competition.

Judson Theatre Company (Morgan Sills, Executive Producer and Daniel Haley, Artistic Director) has announced the stars of their Fifth Anniversary Season: John Davidson in On Golden Pond and John Wesley Shipp in Twelve Angry Men. On Golden Pond opens Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 7:00 pm and runs through Sunday, March 27. Twelve Angry Men opens Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm and runs through Sunday, September 25. Judson Theatre Company performs exclusively at Owens Auditorium, located at 3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst.

The quintessential backstage musical comedy classic 42nd STREET will celebrate a TWO night engagement at the State Theatre with a sparkling new production, Wednesday February 3 and Thursday February 4.  42nd STREET will be directed by co-author Mark Bramble and choreographed by Randy Skinner, the team who staged the 2001 Tony Award winning Best Revival.
