Broken Box Mime Theater has announced its newest show, ABOVE BELOW. Through movement and music, Broken Box Mime Theater performs a set of fresh original narratives that explore what is above, what is below, and how we find ourselves in the here and now. Inspired by place and perspective, and set to contemporary music mixed live by DJ Christopher Ross, ABOVE BELOW will begin performances at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Avenue) on October 2, 2015, and run through October 25, 2015. Supermen, written by Brooklyn-based Adam Esquenazi Douglas, won Best Play at the 13th Annual Season of the Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUTF). The festival ran from May 13-30, 2015 at HERE Mainstage in SoHo, NYC and featured 17 plays written by some of America's best emerging writers and theatrical visionaries from California to New York.

In Extremis Theater Company is pleased to announce its world-premiere production of Happy by Liz Thaler (The Fresh Fruit Festival's The Peddler's Tale, FringeNYC's Courtney and Kathleen: A Riot Act) as part of F*ckFest, a sex-positive theater festival at The Brick. This production, directed by Lauren Miller (FringeNYC's How Do You Say Mother in Esperanto?, Producer of newTACTics at TACT/The Actors Company Theatre) and produced by Peryn Schmitt, will be presented at The Brick in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (579 Metropolitan Avenue) for 4 performances: Today, June 20th at 2PM, Sunday June 21st at 5PM, Saturday June 27th at 6PM, and Sunday June 28th at 5PM. The performance runs 95 minutes with no intermission.

I'm prepared to lose friends as I type this, but I'm actually not a huge of Will S. Perhaps attending a Shakespeare camp in my youth would've lead me in a different path, but in the past I'd spend so much time sifting through and interpreting the language, that the overall impact of the story was lost. However, this production seemed covertly aimed at changing my mind.
