World Premiere of MAGELLANICA Comes to Artists Rep

Artists Rep presents the World Premiere of Magellanica, by E.M. Lewis, directed by Damaso Rodriguez from January 20 through February 18 on the theatre's Morrison Stage. Magellanica is a five-part epic play written by Oregon playwright E.M. Lewis. This production is made possible through major funding from the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) Creative Heights Initiative and the Edgerton Foundation New Play Award. Magellanica is a part of Portland's Fertile Ground Festival of New Works.

SUGAR IN OUR WOUNDS Receives the 2018 Laurents/Hatcher Award

The Trustees of The Laurents / Hatcher Foundation, Inc. are pleased to announce that SUGAR IN OUR WOUNDS by Donja R. Love is the recipient of the Laurents / Hatcher Foundation Award. Mr. Love will receive $50,000, and Manhattan Theatre Club, who will present the world premiere in June 2018, will receive $100,000 towards the production.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced a post-performance Beyond the Stage talkback series for Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of the American Repertory Theater production of In the Body of the World, written and performed by Tony Award winner Eve Ensler and directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus.

Submissions Now Accepted for Red Bull's Eighth Annual Short New Play Fest

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Founding Artistic Director Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced that their eighth annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes will feature two brand new commissions from Tina Howe and Doug Wright, alongside 6 brand new plays chosen from hundreds of submissions from playwrights across the country. Selected plays will receive a staged reading performance in the festival on Monday July 16th (7:30 PM), directed by Pamela Berlin and Evan Yionoulis, performed by a company of some of New York's finest actors.

Performances of IN THE BODY OF THE WORLD Begin Tomorrow

Performances begin tomorrow Tuesday, January 16 for Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of the American Repertory Theater production of In The Body of The World, written and performed by Tony Award winner Eve Ensler and directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus. Opening night is set for Tuesday, February 6 at MTC at New York City Center Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

Melville Theatre Presents VENUS IN FUR

A mysterious, erotic and funny drama featuring just two people is Melville Theatre's first offering for 2018. Written by US playwright, screenwriter and novelist David Ives and directed by Trevor Dhu, Venus in Fur was first staged in 2010 and nominated for numerous Tony Awards before Roman Polanski shot a French film version in late 2012.

Burbage Theatre Co Continues Season with VENUS IN FUR

The Burbage Theatre Co announces the third play of their seventh season, David Ives's VENUS IN FUR, directed by Kate Kataja, which opens previews on January 19, and closes on February 4.
