BABY GIRL to Play FringeNYC, 8/8-24

Kutumba Theatre Project, in association with The Present Company as part of the 18th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, presents the New York premiere of "Baby GirL," a comedy based on true events, written and directed by Kim Ehly (Artistic Director, Kutumba Theatre Project). * Please Note: The title, "Baby GirL," is written with a capital "L" at the end with intention. "Baby GirL" will be presented at Fringe Venue #10 - The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street, btw. 2nd Avenue and the Bowery) in Manhattan.

WONDERLAND Begins Tonight at Hampstead Theatre

Hampstead Theatre presents the World Premiere of WONDERLAND by Beth Steel, directed by Edward Hall, designed by Ashley Martin Davis, choreographed by Scott Ambler, and with music composed by Simon Slater. The show will play today, 20 June - 26 July 2014. Press Night: Thursday 26 June at 7pm.

Marking the thirtieth anniversary of the Miners' Strike, Beth Steel's political drama presents the full sweep of the turbulent events that transformed the country - from the corridors of Westminster, to pitched battles with the police, to the coal faces of Nottinghamshire. Hampstead Theatre is delighted to announce the full cast.

English Choirmaster and Composer Philip Moore to Conduct St. Charles Singers, 5/17-18

Eminent English choirmaster and composer Philip Moore will make his Chicago-area conducting debut when he leads the St. Charles Singers in an all-British season-finale program at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church, 7300 Division St., River Forest, Ill., and at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave., St. Charles.

United States Artists Relocates Headquarters to Chicago

Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Commissioner Michelle Boone, Carolina Garcia Jayaram, Chief Executive Officer of United States Artists (USA) and USA's Board of Directors are announcing today that USA, one of the nation's largest grant-making and advocacy organizations, supporting artists across eight major disciplines, will move its headquarters from Los Angeles to Chicago. USA is in the process of hiring local staff and finding a location for the new office within the city.

The Winners of the 38th Annual Carbonell Awards Are Announced

On Monday night, March 31, at the 38th annual Carbonell Awards, when the statuettes were all handed out, the musical numbers had concluded and the audience had left the Broward Center for the Performing Arts to attend the after-party, two things could not be denied: South Florida is home to a rich, vibrant theatrical community packed with talent; and it was a good night to be Island City Stage.

In attendence for the special reunion were Nicole Barth (Original cast), Paul Berne (dancer, Original Company), Carleton Carpenter and Johnny Beecher (Sheridan (Cornelius Hackl and Barnaby Tucker: Mary Martin International Company), Wayne Clark (first National Company with Carol Channing), John Anthony Gilvey, David Hartman (Rudolph and Stage Manager: Original Company), Charles Karel (Original cast), Jan LaPrad (Original Company dancer), Joan 'Buttons' Leonard (original company), Bob Lydiard (Cornelius Hackl, Carol's first Broadway Revival), Lee Roy Reams (Cornelius Hackl 1977 tour and Broadway Revival, director 1996 Broadway tour and Revival),Megan Thomas (Carol's last tour), Andrea Bell (started with Carol Channing, as Ermengarde at the age of seventeen, in Carol's FIRST national tour as well as other productions.) WWE & E! Partner for New Docu-Series TOTAL DIVAS, Premiering 7/28
