The nation's leading LGBT festival ran from July 6th to July 16th. The 2017 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival closes tonight with Trudie Styler's comedic Freak Show, starring Bette Midler, Alex Lawther, AnnaSophia Robb, Abigail Breslin, Ian Nelson, Larry Pine and featuring a cameo from Laverne Cox. Celebrating its 35th Anniversary, Outfest - the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBT stories on the screen - today announced the complete programming lineup for the 2017 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival presented by HBO. The nation's leading LGBT festival will be held July 6-16, 2017.

Marjorie Prime Wins Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Feature Film Prize at 2017 Sundance Film Festival

At a reception during the 2017 Sundance Film Festival today, the beneficiaries of $60,000 in grants from Sundance Institute and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation were revealed. Doron Weber, the Vice President of Programs at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, announced the winners: Michael Almereyda's Marjorie Prime won the Feature Film Prize; Adam Benic's Levittown (Sundance Institute | Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Episodic Storytelling Grant); Darcy Brislin and Dyana Winkler's Bell (Sundance Institute | Sloan Lab Fellowship); and Jamie Dawson and Howard Gertler's Untitled Smallpox Eradication Project (Sundance Institute | Sloan Commissioning Grant).

Academy Determines Nominees for AMOUR and Documentary Features

The Producers Branch Executive Committee of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has determined the individual nominees for "Amour" in the Best Picture category for the Oscars. They are producers Margaret Menegoz, Stefan Arndt, Veit Heiduschka and Michael Katz.
