Women and Theatre Presents LOVING ME, Feb. 14-15

Coinciding with Valentine's Day, Birmingham based Women & Theatre present ‘Loving Me', a brand new piece of musical theatre created with Looked After Young People. In partnership with Birmingham Hippodrome, Service Birmingham, the REP and LACES (Looked After Children Education Service), a group of young people have worked together to devise an extraordinary piece of theatre on the theme of love.

UW School of Drama to Present David Edgar's PENTECOST, 2/20-3/3

UW School of Drama presents David Edgar's Pentecost, directed by MFA in Directing candidate Andrew McGinn, in his thesis production at the Jones Playhouse. Previews begin Wednesday, February 20, 2013. The production runs through Sunday, March 3, and features performers from the School of Drama's graduate and undergraduate programs.

Nicholas Nickelby Event Headlines Orlando Shakespeare Theater's 25th Anniversary Season

Artistic Director Jim Helsinger announced today that a two-part repertory production of Charles Dickens' epic "The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby" will headline Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF's 25th Anniversary Season. Adapted by playwright David Edgar from the comic novel by Charles Dickens, the play will be the biggest production in Orlando Shakes' history, with 30 actors playing more than 150 characters.

Berkeley Rep's Summer Lab to Include 40 Top U.S. Artists, July 2012

This July, 40 of the nation's most prominent and promising writers, directors, and composers will be in residence at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in a new laboratory for collaboration. Today, the renowned nonprofit announced 13 selections for the inaugural summer lab at The Ground Floor, Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work. During an intense four-week period, dozens of artists will live, dine, create, and collaborate at the Theatre's new campus in West Berkeley.

Burning Coal Theatre Presents World Premiere of JUDE THE OBSCURE, 4/12-5/5

Burning Coal Theatre Company will close its 15th season with the world premiere of Jude the Obscure, Parts 1 & 2 by Ian Finley, with music and lyrics by Thomas Hardy, Bruce Benedict, Jerome Davis and Jonathan Fitts. The production will run April 12 - May 5, 2012 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm (April 12 - 14, 19 - 21, 26 - 28 and May 3 - 5, 2012), Saturdays at 2 pm (April 21, 28 and May 5, 2012) and Sundays at 2 pm (April 15, 22, 29, 2012). Sunday, April 15 (Part 1) and Sunday, April 22nd (Part 2) at 2 pm are our 'Pay What You Can' days. Those performances will also be Audio Described. Director Tony Taccone, Boston College Grad, to Receive Alumni Award

Boston College alumnus and accomplished theater director Tony Taccone-artistic director of the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berkeley, California, one of the most prominent regional theaters in the country-returns to campus this month as the special guest and alumni honoree at the University's 14th annual Arts Festival, which will be held April 26-28, 2012. Taccone will make a number of public appearances while on campus.
