ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE Opens Tonight at the Provincetown Theater

Swinging the Outer Cape into the holiday spirit, the Provincetown Theater (238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA) opens its final major production of the 2018 season on November 29th with the beloved musical memoir Always… Patsy Cline. Based on a true story, and featuring 27 hit songs from the country-music icon, Always… Patsy Cline* -- as written by Ted Swindley -- follows the special friendship between Patsy Cline and her devoted fan Louise Seger, who became a lifelong pen pal and trusted confidante of the singer right up until her tragic, untimely death at age 30.

The Laundromat On Maryland Avenue Presents The World Premiere Of THE ACCIDENT BEAR

This world premiere production invites audiences to experience the world of coin-operated laundromats by seeing a play in a coin-operated laundromat in historic, downtown Annapolis. Maryland playwright Bob Bartlett's time-bending play, THE ACCIDENT BEAR, comically traces the first and last moments of a love affair between the accident-prone Bear, who owns a coin-operated laundromat where he also lives, and Chance, an unemployed paramedic living in her 1978 Volkswagen Beetle, who stumbles into his lonely world.

Provincetown Theater Caps 2018 Season With ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE

Just in time for the holidays, on November 29th the Provincetown Theater (238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA) is set to open its final major offering of the 2018 season, the joyous musical memoir Always… Patsy Cline. Based on a true story, and featuring 27 hit songs from the legendary star, Always… Patsy Cline* follows the special friendship between the country-music icon and her devoted fan Louise Seger, who became a longtime pen pal and trusted confidante of Patsy. The production, running thru December 16th, stars Julia Salinger (from The Laramie Project) as Louise, and Laura Cappello (from You Can't Take It with You) returning to the title role - which, when she performed it on Cape Cod several years ago, the Cape Cod Times raved "Laura Cappello IS Patsy Cline." In Provincetown, it will be directed by David Drake, with musical direction from John Thomas, who'll head up the band.

On The Rocks' Theatre Company's Festive Holiday Bar Pageant, Edelweiss, Returns To Dixon Place

Back by popular demand, On The Rocks Theatre Company remounts their festive holiday bar pageant, Edelweiss, in the Dixon Place Lounge. The production is written by On The Rocks co-founders Christopher Ford & Dakota Rose with original music by their frequent collaborator Andrew R. Butler. Ms. Rose helms the production as director. Edelweiss will play four performances only - December 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd at 7:30p, in the Dixon Place Lounge. Admission is FREE. Tickets can be reserved by visiting www.dixonplace.org.

THE LARAMIE PROJECT Opens On Day Of Matthew Shepard Interment Announcement

As the Provincetown Theater's 20th anniversary production of The Laramie Project opens tonight, October 11, 2018 at the Birthplace of American Theater, it was announced that the ashes of Matthew Shepard will find their final resting place at the Washington National Cathedral.

LARAMIE PROJECT - First In 'Community Conversations' Series In Provincetown

In conjunction with our 20th anniversary production of The Laramie Project, the Provincetown Theater at 238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA will sponsor a series of post-performance "Community Conversations" following matinee performances during the show's three-week run (October 11-28, performs Thursdays - Saturdays at 7pm, Sundays at 2pm). The first in the series will begin at 4:15pm, Sunday, Oct 14. Throughout the series, topics will pertain to socially relevant themes coursing through the veins of this modern American classic -- which reveals a community's response to the brutal murder of the openly gay college student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming in 1998. Free of charge, open to the public, each of the "Community Conversations" focuses on a different theme relevant to the play, lead by a moderator and host of panelists in the field.

World Premiere Of NEPTUNE By Timothy DuWhite Opens Today.

Dixon Place (Ellie Covan, Founder/Artistic Director) presents the world premiere of Timothy DuWhite's Neptune, opening Today, July 13th at 7:30 PM and running for three weeks (July 13, 14, 21, & 28 at 7:30 pm, and July 20 & 27 at 10:00 pm), at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). Advance tickets are $18 general admission, $15 for seniors and students; at the door $21 and $18, respectively. $15 early bird tickets are available until June 20th. Provincetown Theater Honors Terrence McNally with its First Provincetown American Playwright Award

On Friday, July 20th the board of the Provincetown Theater Foundation and their new artistic director, Obie Award winner David Drake, will present the first annual Provincetown American Playwright Award to Terrence McNally, the four-time Tony Award-winning playwright of such iconic plays and musicals as Master Class, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Lips Together, Teeth Apart, The Full Monty, Ragtime, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and this summer's Cape Cod premiere of his masterpiece Love! Valour! Compassion! at the Provincetown Theater.
