The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center today announced its fourth season, highlighting new twists in its performing arts series, fresh multimedia educational events, and the creation of exciting new artistic partnerships. The popular Summer Season also makes its return with celebrated theater, film and music artists and open-air parties on the plaza of the state-of-the-art modernist arts complex in Santa Monica. In addition, Season 4 increases to 174 performances, two U.S. Premieres, three West Coast Premieres and seven Los Angeles Premieres encompassing visionary artists in Shakespearean, American and avant-garde theater; legends and rising stars of Broadway, opera, jazz, world, classical and new music; the new multimedia lecture series and film.

Rehearsals are underway for the Broadway revival of John Guare's comedic masterpiece THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES starring Ben Stiller, Edie Falco and Jennifer Jason Leigh. THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES, directed by David Cromer, will open on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street). Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today the Nikos Stage line-up for the 2011 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF), the company's 57th season and the first under Ms. Gersten's leadership. The Nikos Stage season kicks-off on June 22, 2011 and runs through August 21, 2011 and will include revivals of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire and Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, along with three new works: Lewis Black's One Slight Hitch, the East Coast Premiere of Bess Wohl's Touch(ed), and The Civilians' production of You Better Sit Down: tales from my parents' divorce. Directors taking part in the 2011 Nikos Stage season include David Cromer, Trip Cullman, Sam Gold, Joe Grifasi and Anne Kauffman. Actors Jessica Hecht, Paige Howard, Hamish Linklater, Lily Rabe, Sam Rockwell, Lili Taylor and many more will be featured this season on the Nikos Stage.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the Roundabout Theatre Company will produce a workshop of Yank!, a WWII musical. The York Theatre Company premiered the show last season and since its critically acclaimed reception, buzz has been swirling about a Broadway transfer as early as next season. Original Yank! cast member Bobby Steggert will be reprising his role in the upcoming workshop. New cast members include Santino Fontana, Morgan Spector, Michael Berresse, Nellie McKay, Jeff Hiller, Tally Sessions, Colt Prattes, Derrick Trumbly, Jeremy Cohen, Tyler Maynard, Cole Escola, Brad Bass, Cody Williams and Colin Bradbury.

James Franco, will co-host the 2011 Oscars has confirmed to MTV news that he will co-star with Oscar winner Nicole Kidman in the upcoming Broadway revival of SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH, according to Showbiz411.com. Franco says that he will appear appear as Chance Wayne, in the Fall 2011 production, which will be directed by David Cromer.
