The Drama League (Executive Director, Gabriel Shanks) has announced the 2013 Drama League Awards Nominees for Distinguished Play, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced at a ceremony hosted by Patina Miller and Michael Urie this morning at Sardi's Restaurant which were streamed live online at www.BroadwayWorld.com.

“Run, but don't run away” opens the chorus of this new single, a unique collaboration between South African musician Gazelle, Dither Down mainstay Jogyo and vocalist Devi Mambouka. 3 NYC-based transplants of African descent who have come together to create an invocation to “Change your perspective” and “Face your fears.” The result is “R.U.N”, an acronym of sorts that Jogyo says means “Remember Union Now.” It's an infectious track, which features hypnotic guitar riffs, pounding beats and haunting lyrics. Each artist contributes vocals that highlight their signature styles, while at the same time seamlessly blending together. Click below to watch the video!
HERE LIES LOVE Extends Again Through June 2 at the Public

The Public Theater announced another two week extension today for the world premiere musical HERE LIES LOVE, with concept and lyrics by David Byrne, music by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. Directed by Alex Timbers, HERE LIES LOVE began performances on Tuesday, April 2 and has been extended twice due to high demand. The new 360 degree musical will now run through Sunday, June 2 in The Public's LuEsther Theater, with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 23.

The Public Theater's HERE LIES LOVE is described as an 85-minute theatrical experience, all filtered through the remarkable vision of David Byrne, one of the great American artists of the last half century. Set within a dance club atmosphere, audiences will stand and move with the actors. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended since the audience stands and moves with the actors. Jeff Buckley Musical, THE LAST GOODBYE, to Play Old Globe This October

The Old Globe will open its 2013-14 Season with The Last Goodbye, a new musical that marries Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel, the rock musical is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). Choreography is by Sonya Tayeh ("So You Think You Can Dance"), and orchestrations, music direction and arrangements are by Kris Kukul. The complete creative team and casting, as well as the remainder of the Globe's new season, will be announced at a later date. The Last Goodbye will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 20 - Nov. 3, 2013. Preview performances run Sept. 20 - Oct. 5. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 6. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Sontag: Reborn, based on the books by Susan Sontag and edited by David Rieff, adapted and performed by Moe Angelos, directed by Marianne Weems, and produced in collaboration with The Builders Association, will begin performances Tuesday, May 28 at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Thursday, June 6 at 7pm. Sontag: Reborn is scheduled to run through Sunday, June 30.
