The Public's HERE LIES LOVE Extends Through May 19

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced a two week extension today for the world premiere musical HERE LIES LOVE, with concept and lyrics by David Byrne, music by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. Directed by Alex Timbers, HERE LIES LOVE begins performances on Tuesday, April 2 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, May 5. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, May 19.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that the 2013 Public Theater annual gala will celebrate the company's acclaimed 1980 production of the musical, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, with a one-night-only concert performance on Monday, June 10 at the Delacorte Theater where The Public's production originally premiered more than three decades ago. Sir Howard Stringer, Arielle Tepper Madover, and Renee Beaumont will serve as Gala Co-Chairs for this unforgettable evening that will also honor the late Nora Ephron who was a longtime Public Theater board member and consummate lover of Shakespeare in the Park.
2013 Latino Arts Festval Kicks Off at the Ware Center

Last year, over a thousand members of the Latino community and Latino arts aficionados jammed the Ware Center for the first Latino Film Festival. This year, the Festival has been expanded to Latino Arts Festival, which includes all the arts: music, dance and art, as well as film. The Festival is open to and encourages everyone in the community to take part in the three day celebration honoring Latino arts and artists.

Cloud Cult Releases New Album LOVE Today

Cloud Cult previously announced a headlining tour of the US this April and May following today's March 5th release of their new full-length studio album Love on Earthology Records. The band will kick off the two month tour in Boston, MA at Brighton Music Hall on April 10th and will play select dates across the US that has them visiting most major cities.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that it will continue its collaboration with Dallas Theater Center to co-produce the new musical THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE in 2014. Following the success of the musical Giant, THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, based upon the bestselling novel by Jonathan Lethem, will premiere at Dallas Theater Center in March and continue in New York as part of The Public's 2014-15 Season at Astor Place.

The Festival is open to and encourages everyone in the community to take part in the three day celebration honoring Latino arts and artists.
Thursday, March 7th at 6 PM, the Ware Center kicks off the opening of the Latino Arts Festival with a gala reception in Lyet Lobby of the Ware Center overlooking Prince Street. The evening, which runs until 9 PM will include Latino music featuring a regional Latino band and vocals by Latino sensation Naiby Perez, remarks by dignitaries and art by local Hispanic teens, which is a part of the Lancaster County Young Artists Exhibit. The gala is free and open to the public.

Former lead member of the Talking Heads (and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee), David Byrne, has joined forces with guitar maven St. Vincent (also known as Annie Clark) for Love this Giant, an album three years in the making that Paste magazine describes as 'a deeply weird and deeply lovely record.' The pair will play Whitney Hall on Tuesday, July 2, 7:30 p.m.

Directed by Alex Timbers, HERE LIES LOVE begins performances on Tuesday, April 2 and runs through Sunday, May 5, with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 23.
