NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce programming for its tenth season, 2013-14. In its first decade, NYU Skirball has made substantial contributions not only to the community surrounding the country's largest private university, but also to a broader cultural landscape. In recent years, Executive Director Michael Harrington has used the venue-which, with 860 seats and state-of-the-art production capabilities, is unique in downtown Manhattan-to provide a platform for artists from around the world and from the facility's Greenwich Village neighborhood to practice their craft on a larger scale. In addition to multiple-night or -week runs (Joshua Light Show, Not by Bread Alone, Shlemiel the First), NYU Skirball Center hosts a range of singular events, such as a dialogue between David Byrne and Ahmir '?uestlove' Thompson, Reggie Watts in concert, Comedian Rob Delaney and the and season 2 premiere of HBO's "Girls."

Young Jean Lee, whom The New York Times recently called 'hands down, the most adventurous downtown playwright of her generation,' will release her band Future Wife's first album, entitled We're Gonna Die and produced by Shannon Fields (Stars Like Fleas, Leverage Models), today, August 6.

Bang on a Can's radical marching band Asphalt Orchestrareturns to Lincoln Center Out of Doors to give the world premiere of Asphalt Orchestra Plays the Pixies: Surfer Rosa, commissioned by Lincoln Center and honoring the groundbreaking album's 25th anniversary, tonight, July 28, 2013 at 6:30pm at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park Bandshell. Parade sets by Asphalt Orchestra and Jacob Garchik's The Heavens start at 6 pm on Josie Robertson Plaza and Hearst Plaza. The program also includes performances by the Kronos Quartet with special guests Dan Deacon and Jherek Bischoff, as part of a weeklong celebration, KRONOS at 40, co-curated by Lincoln Center and Kronos Quartet.

The Public Theater presents the critically acclaimed world premiere musical Here Lies Love, with concept and lyrics by David Byrne, music by David Byrneand Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. Directed by Alex Timbers, Here Lies Love officially opened on Tuesday, April 23 and was extended a fourth and final time to today, July 28.

Almost 400,000 people have attended concerts at Arts Centre Melbourne's new Hamer Hall since it re-opened last July 26, roundly cementing its reputation as the 'people's concert hall'. The New Group launches its 2013-2014 Off-Broadway season with the New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley's The Jacksonian, arriving in Fall 2013. Directed by Tony Award winner Robert Falls, this production features Ed Harris, Glenne Headly, Amy Madigan and Bill Pullman. The Jacksonian was first produced at the Geffen Playhouse in 2012. In Winter 2014, as the second production in the company's season, The New Group delivers the world premiere of Thomas Bradshaw's Intimacy, directed by Scott Elliott. The third production of The New Group's upcoming season is to be announced.
