Paying homage to one of the most influential groups of all time, NBC is celebrating Sweden's most popular export with 'ABBA: Thank You for the Music, An All-Star Tribute.' The two-hour special, set to air in December, will showcase specially invited artists performing classic songs made famous by ABBA, including 'Dancing Queen', 'Mamma Mia', The Winner Takes It All' and 'Take A Chance On Me'.

LIGHT SHINING IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, which was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, May 27, will now run through Sunday, June 3, 2018.
The Flaming Lips announce their first official 'hits' collection on Warner Bros. Records to be released on June 1. Greatest Hits Vol. 1 will compile eleven WBR-era singles and album tracks on a single black vinyl pressing. This is the first time The Lips have presented singles from Transmissions From The Satellite Heart (1993), Clouds Taste Metallic (1995), The Soft Bulletin (1999), Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (2002), At War With The Mystics (2006), Embryonic (2009) and their current album Oczy Mlody (2017) on a single disc.
New York City Gay Men's Chorus (NYCGMC) today announced they will honor the work of David Bowie in QUEER GENIUS: DAVID BOWIE AND BEYOND, a show that celebrates non-conformity and the right of every individual to be themselves in all their glory. The performance will take place on May 19 at 8pm at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

This morning, Gillian Welch announces new “An Evening With” tour dates in cities including Las Vegas, Portland, New Orleans and two dates in Saxapahaw, NC (full dates below). On this tour Gillian Welch and her musical partner, David Rawlings, will perform two full sets of music with no opener. On Thursday, May 24 (7:30 pm) Japan Society presents an evening with two New York-based master instrumentalists: koto player Yumi Kurosawa and shamisen player Yoko Reikano Kimura, who are revitalizing their instruments through novel repertoire, musical approaches, and playing techniques. The eclectic program will span traditional, classical, and contemporary works, including duets of koto + shamisen, shamisen + cello (Hikaru Tamaki) and koto + tabla (Anubrata Chatterjee). A Turntable Friend Records has announced the forthcoming 'Magical Thinking' EP from Liverpool-based The Room in the Wood. Comprised of Paul Cavanagh and Dave Jackson, the duo shall present their debut EP digitally on April 20, followed by an 11-track album, to be released later this spring on vinyl, CD and digitally.
