Due to popular demand, Manhattan Theatre Club announces one additional week of performances for the world premiere of Sugar in Our Wounds.

Sugar in Our Wounds opened on Tuesday, June 19 and is now playing through Sunday, July 8 at MTC's The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center (131 West 55th Street).

The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is thrilled to present the return of its highly anticipated Ballet Festival, a two-week showcase of some of America's most exciting contemporary ballet companies and choreographers with Joyce commissions on each program. The Festival, designed to recognize dancers and choreographers who are creating work outside the traditional large company setting - and, in many cases, forming their own companies - will take place from June 26 - July 7 at The Joyce Theater. This year's festival, supported by an endowment established with major support from the Rudolf Nureyev Dance Foundation, features the Joyce debuts of Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami and Barak Ballet, as well as the anticipated returns of Joshua Beamish/MOVETHECOMPANY, BalletX, and Ashley Bouder Project. Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce full casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Sugar in Our Wounds, a new play by Donja R. Love, directed by Saheem Ali (Twelfth Night for the Public Theater's Mobile Unit).

There are certain Dance Companies that are in a class by themselves. Dance Theatre of Harlem is one of them. They not only encompass many forms of the Dance brilliantly, they are committed to diversity in their dancers and repertoire.

I was lucky enough to be one of the lucky ones to be in the Broad Stage audience recently when the extraordinary Dance Theatre of Harlem invited Los Angeles audiences, for the first time in way too many years, to join in with them in experiencing the wonders of neo-classical and contemporary ballet that is both of the moment and timeless. The evening's 105-minute program consisted of Brahms Variations, choreographed by Robert Garland (2016), Dancing on the Front Porch of Heaven, choreographed by Ulysses Dove (1993) and Vessels, choreographed by Darrell Grand Moultrie (2014), each more enchanting than the last!

Fire Island Dance Festival returns July 20-22, 2018, bringing world-class dance, breathtaking views and unparalleled culture to Fire Island Pines. The annual festival of celebrated and diverse companies and choreographers is produced by and benefits Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. As Black History Month draws to a close, the Ailey spotlight moves from Times Square to the Ailey Citigroup Theater. Throughout February, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater soared above Times Square in a Morgan Stanley “Lights on Broadway” salute, and New Yorkers and tourists alike were encouraged to #JoinTheDance and remember that #MSGivesBack. The campaign in the “Crosswords of the World” highlighted Ailey's status as “Cultural Ambassador to the World,” and recognized the organization's six decades of “celebrating the African-American heritage and the modern dance tradition,” and its offerings of “performances, training, and education programs that enlighten all.”

On the heels of a 32-city world tour, Ailey II returns to The Ailey Citigroup Theaterfrom March 14 - 25 for its annual New York season. The 12 talented young dancers will prove that they are "second to none" (Dance magazine) in dynamic works by some of the most exciting emerging choreographers, including premieres by Juel D. Lane, Renee I. McDonald, and Darrell Grand Moultrie, and returning favorites by Jae Man Joo, Bridget L. Moore, and former Ailey dancer Marcus Willis.

Following the show's development at The Orchard Project in 2017, LubDub Theatre presents The Doubtful Guest, an immersive contemporary s ance featuring cocktails and sleight-of-hand and exploring the legacy of American spiritualism. The piece premieres at The Public Hotel (215 Chrystie St., New York, NY) following sold-out developmental performances at The Inn at Saratoga and Guild Greene Gallery.

Following the show's development at The Orchard Project in 2017, LubDub Theatre presents The Doubtful Guest, an immersive contemporary s ance featuring cocktails and sleight-of-hand and exploring the legacy of American spiritualism.
