Playwright Jamie Morris ('Mommie Queerest,' 'The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode,' and 'The Silence of the Clams') ' is at it again with his latest comedy parody. This time around he spoofs another popular 1980s sitcom, sending up the gals of the Sugarbaker Design Firm in Atlanta. The West Coast Premiere of 'Re-Designing Women' opens May 29 for a three-week run at the Diversionary Theater.

Darius-Anthony Robinson, most notable for playing ex- con, Mitch Mahoney(et. al) in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee or singing "Big, Black Lady Stopping the Show" numbers in Uptown Players annual fundraiser, Broadway Our Way, or dancing (sometimes skating) up a storm in the ensembles and chorus, more recently Xanadu at WaterTower Theatre, Darius-Anthony Robinson, can be seen performing across the metroplex and country will make his long-awaited solo concert debut Dec. 18 for a one-night-only-performance engagement at Uptown Theatre in Grand Prairie.

Uptown Players presents the world premiere of Re-Designing Women, a new play by Jamie Morris, creator of The Facts Of Life: The Lost Episode, Mommie Queerest, and Silence of the Clams. This unauthorized parody of the popular 1980's sitcom runs April 5 through May 19, 2013 at the Rose Room Theater inside S4 Night Club on Cedar Springs.

Monday February 27, THE COLUMN AWARDS (TCA) organization honored excellence in theater within the Dallas-Fort Worth Theater community, which held its 13th annual gala this past Monday. TCA is the only awards organization in the United States that donates all money (after expenses) to BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS. A charity they have been associated since its inception. To date, THE COLUMN AWARDS have donated close to $70.000.00 to BC/EFA. See the full list of winners below.
